Brewers at Phillies; Saturday, May 31 @ 3:05 p.m.: Chad Patrick (2.97 ERA, 3.29 FIP) vs. Jesús Luzardo (2.15 ERA, 2.25 FIP)

Luzardo having one of those games.  One of the better pitchers in the NL this year.  Extremely impressive to put up 11 runs against one of the better lefties in the NL.

I wonder if Rhys gets plunked next time.  🤣

The benches will clear if he does.

Even Cameron is getting in on the action. Is he tipping his pitches or something?

Daz was reading the game thread between innings for motivation.

I take credit for this one.

Luzardo is on my fantasy team and he single-handedly blew up my week.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

That start was beginning to remind me of the time Toronto left David Wells out to dry against the Brewers.

This is the type of game where you let Patrick go through the lineup three times as long as the Phillies are not within striking distance you let him go as long as he can.

After Patrick is done today Murphy will probably bring in Tyler Alexander to make it a game again.

Brewers starting to look a bit more like the team I thought they were before the season. Wasn't planning on World Series tickets or anything but I still thought this was a backend playoff team. They will probably have to claw to get there, but I just didn't want to believe they were as bad as they had been looking.

They can't keep this pace obviously but if they can stay out of these 6 and 7 game skis the other way, I think they are definitely capable of 88-92 wins.

It helps when your better hitters actually start hitting.  For awhile Chourio, Yelich and Hoskins were nearly automatic outs.  Contreras for a bit was also in the automatic out category.  When you have a third of your lineup just being absolutely horrible you are not going to win many games especially when those are hitters in the top half of the lineup.

I just came to say: LET'S GO!!!!!

Like I said all along: Buy! Buy! Buy!

(Still not Chafin proof. Is it Alexander proof? I can not divulge.)

I'm ok with Alexander finishing the last couple of innings even if he "tweaks" his back to the point where he needs an IL stint to get Quintana back on the roster tomorrow.  😉
