Vinny talked about that awhile go……thy are trained to do that to see if the ball is swung at……it really doesn’t slow them down much if at all he said.

That makes sense I guess. Don’t want to hit into a line drive/flyball and just keep running.

It’s crazy to me that a lineup with no one higher than a .790 OPS can somehow be 4th in the NL in runs scored.

I’d like some historian to confirm that we are the first team in MLB history to have the best record in MLB after 100 games with no hitters over an .800 OPS.

I was taught that as well in high school

No idea if it slows you down at all - they weren’t giving my Hoskins speed the green light lol

My number one terrible prediction of the year will be realized.    I never thought we would be ahead of the cubs at any point this season.

im wrong.   Let’s hope it stays that way

We’re about to be ahead of all 29 other teams in Major League Baseball.

If you were going to Anderson anyway I don’t know you wouldn’t just have him start the inning.

My uneducated guess is that Ashby throws something that Cal struggles against maybe? One of his off-speed pitches ... and if Ashby gets him he can just finish the game. If/then scenario...

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
