Murphy needs to make statement and pull McGee as soon as this trouble started. We have relievers. Use them. This is unacceptable managing imo.

No need to waste another arm in a blowout.  McGee was going to pitch till it got close to a save situation.

80% chance McGee experiences arm soreness, real or imagined tomorrow

I have arm soreness just from watching that 9th inning

If you had told me we would give up 9 runs tonight and I saw our lineup I would have said “hopefully we can take 2 out of 3”.

9 runs and the game was never in doubt after the 3rd inning………😎

Easton McGee was one more hit with RISP or just a Murphy decision to use Seigler away from a good 1 inning outing and staying in the pen. Now he’ll be sent down or DFA’d. Tough life being the last guy in the bullpen.

If Burnes & Woodruff started their careers in Milwaukee’s bullpen, why can’t a few of our young minor league starters. We need quality arms that can get big league outs. Patrick, Henderson, Myers … all are much better than this rag arm.

Not sure Henderson will be back up. He's already at 98 IP (previous career high of 81 IP) and hasn't looked good for about six weeks now.

He got bombed for 5 ER in his first AAA start of the season, but after that he locked in from April 3rd through June 13th pitching 39 IP in AAA with a 0.92 ERA | 2.60 FIP to go along with his 21 IP of 1.71 ERA | 3.05 FIP work in MLB during that same stretch.

Since June 13th? 34 IP of 5.77 ERA | 4.95 FIP.

Patrick, Myers, maybe even Gasser might be bullpen options as it gets closer to playoff time and there's an extra roster spot in September, but I'd guess for now they prefer to keep them stretched out on a regular schedule over getting spot work as the last guy in the MLB pen.

This lineup is going to have to scratch out a run somewhere

How does 16 runs sound but not to impressed with McGee.

These types of games are very enjoyable.    Got to keep it going because cubs aren’t going away

This is pretty incredible. If you had told me that the Cubs would essentially keep winning games at their current pace, but by the beginning of August we'd be talking about them as the team we shouldn't expect to go away, I would have said GTFOH

You always have to account for the inevitable daily Vaughn rbi then go from there

That's amazing.

That ‘39 Yankee team had a .702 win percentage and a +411 run differential. Baseball history is just wild.

Pretty cool to be in the same sentence as a team like that.

Myers will be back tomorrow

How long do we have to wait for miller

My guess is that they sent down Myers to stretch him out for the 19 games in 18 days, specifically the double-header on the 18th, when they will need an extra starter maybe two.  They will need one or both of he and Patrick to start games during that stretch, depending on how many innings Mis is allowed to go.

My guess is DFA of McGee (with a nice incentive to stay in the org if he clears waivers for wearing this one) and add someone to the 40.

The return of Payamps?  Or maybe Zimmerman comes up since he left for a day and came back.

Usually the last man in the 'pen is someone that can go 2-3 innings if need be. I don't think Payamps qualifies for that.

I mean our manager publicly admitted to essentially dumpster diving pizza slices out of Hotel boxes - other peoples' pizza - to take them to the ballpark, roll em up like a sammy, and eat said cold slices during the game. He does not care what you or I think. He is utterly 100% confident in his own skin. He knows who he is. He lives and dies for his team.

I know I have gone mildly apoplectic (and I can not promise I won't go that route again) with his bullpen management. But, how can we not embrace Him as the leader of our Pirate Ship of overachievers?!?

A treasure.

40 total hits in the game.

Amazingly it was one of two games on the night with 40 combined hits. And one of three with 25+ combined runs.
