Had other obligations this afternoon, so get home log into Brewers see not only did we win but Harrison absolutely remembered how to pitch after suffering through Las Vegas and Pratt is getting promoted. One heck of a weekend series

I think this was the best day of the season so far:

We won a series against a playoff contender in dominant fashion.

We beat arguably the best pitcher in baseball who doesn’t pitch for us.

Our very important second-best pitcher got his mojo back after a stupid setback.

Evidence that our young phenom hitter is making The Leap continues to grow.

Every other team in the division lost, getting our lead back to a very agreeable five games.

Blake Perkins got a hero moment.

Cooper Pratt is coming up.

That is a hell of a lot to be happy about.

One thing that makes me feel optimistic is the fact this team is 3rd in MLB in fWAR with some pretty glaring holes on the roster. A couple savvy deadline moves and this could be the best roster we've had during this era of Brewers baseball.

It is wild to see the top two largest market teams followed by the two smallest market teams right now.

I've said this before, but I am really thankful for the Mark Attanasio era. Of course I understand we haven't won a WS but I have to imagine we're near the top of winning percentage since he took over in 2005. I think he's one of the least meddling owners and he selects smart people to make decisions for him. I was just appreciating it last night as me and my family watched the Brewers smoke the Reds (well, at first)...can you imagine being a fan of the Pirates or Reds over the last 20 years? Woof. I love the competitiveness and the fact you can turn on the game or show up at the park and usually enjoy the game. A well-liked superstar, a new prospect, smart coaches, etc.

I think you are correct. I liked your point about the enjoyment-factor, because that can be misconstrued with Attanasio's "Summer of Enjoyment" comments. So much of what one can enjoy, is having faith that the Brewers will be good again next year, and the year after that. It's precisely because ownership put faith in smart baseball leadership that we, as fans, can have faith that our personal investments of time, money, and passion will be worth it. We can buy a Yelich or Chourio jersey knowing they'll be here. You can feel that the team will truly give it their all every day. When was the last time you questioned a Brewer's effort? When was the last time the Brewers developed a HOF-level-prospect? How about two of them?

The Brewers won 97 last season, and are on pace to have a similar season. What ownership has brought fans is the opportunity to dream on a World Series in now consecutive seasons, and possibly in the next few seasons. That alone deserves incredible respect in a sport so slanted to the big teams.

Ownership has merely been trying to actualize the Optimism Thread for over a decade now, and we're experiencing the fruits as fans. When you plan to have success, and then do it. It's not optimism. It's faith and trust between all of the stakeholders, including fans.

ditto……I know the Bucks won a championship but all you have to do is read the J/S article about how it all fell apart the last 4 years to appreciate an ownership group and front office like the Brewers that has a plan……continues to execute it year after year……and knows how important structure, culture and continuity is.

No chaos……no panic….no losing sight of what makes them successful.

No drama

yeah its been hard watching the bucks even with Giannis because you could see they were making moves for the sake of making moves and losing ground with each one of them. They should have seen a few years ago the writing on the wall and made a giannis trade so that they could be competitive but their moves and non-moves are so questionable that i stopped following a couple years ago.

Brewers are the complete opposite. in fact, my kid was at an event recently where they had key internal members of the braintrust from these orgs give a talk and the brewers made the bucks look really bad in comparison.

It’s almost like the Brewers are playing chess and the Bucks checkers……..you can’t let one player dictate how you run the organization………no matter how great that player is…….,we saw the result.

Cooper Pratt is already ranked 6th according to fielding bible with 4 DRS.

Cooper Pratt currently already has a 0.5 bWAR in 10 games.

Over a 162 game season that’s a 8.1 bWAR pace.

Very very small sample size but so far Cooper Pratt is awesome.

(My 7th month old is named Cooper, so I might be a little biased of course 😉)

This already places him tied for 8th amongst Brewers hitters with Yelich (also .5 bWAR). Next up in his sights in Hamilton (.9 bWAR).

Coop has been an awesome realization. The bottom 3 in the lineup yesterday (Mitchell, Pratt, Hamilton) is just a world of difference from a month ago (Frelick, Rengifo, Ortiz).
