Pretty much every road stadium already has these sections, heck watching the Nashville highlights they have a section like this is AAA.

Right, it was only a matter of time. It looks even more rinky dink than ever considering every other team has something like this. A premium section like this shouldn't have the same type of small crammed together seats as they do in the terrace. I can't afford it but for those who can it's been a long time coming.

Well, that's just sad to treat a fan base like that imo.

The $50 fan is the fan that comes to multiple games during the course of a season, pays the ridiculous parking fees, spends too much at the concession stands for sub-standard food, buys the extremly overpriced merch, and supports the franchise.  Without the lowly $50 fan as you call them, the team folds.

Make the entire stadium $250+ fans and see what happens.

I didn’t call them “lowly”.   But I think fans view teams as some sort of public trust, when its a business. The corporations and organizations that are going to shell out $40,000 for seats behind the plate with Truss club access are to generate way more revenue than a group of regular fans going to a game 10 times a year and getting an $9 brat and $14 beer each time they go. If the goal is to generate as much ticket and in Park revenue as possible, those fans just aren’t that important in today’s calculus where premium experiences are both extremely profitable and popular.

The Brewers absolutely know what a typical family spends for a game at the ballpark and how often  they go; what a season ticket holder spends; what a private group likely spends; what ages and demographics generate the most revenue  and they’re adjusting their seats accordingly to capture the most revenue.

The suspense for me is whether Front Row Amy will continue to live up to her moniker.

I think she'll still be called Amy.

An area like this is pretty standard around professional sports and I am surprised that the Brewers took so long to do so. While this is a big money maker for the team, it does mean that the best seats will be used to entertain business clients rather than go to fans. Amy is correct that this is a move not for the fans. Since from what I can tell, she is not worried about all inclusive food options while watching the game or hanging out her a private club during the game, and just wants to watch the game and keep score, I can see how she would be upset.

I think the organization would literally need a ton of fans willing to buy $50 tickets and $50 of concessions at each game to replace the value of a single business paying thousands of dollars for premium experiences at one game.

They will move her to other great seats……..she’s just mad that she won’t get TV time anymore.

I’m in favor of anything that brings in more revenue …….anybody that wants to go to games at reasonable prices still will be able to.

I used to primarily sit in section 217 for 10-15 years before they jacked up the prices… now they are doing same to the big spenders in front row…..it’s almost comical. This isn’t a new thing to many Brewers fans! You go less or pick better deals or sit elsewhere. I pay less now per ticket than I paid for those 10-15 years ago. Worse seats, sure…but a better deal and still all kinds of fun. There is risk involved when the Brewers raise prices and the Brewers are not always getting more money out of each fan when it does. Nothing new. But new to the rich guy! Almost comical.

However, I’m sadly wondering about super fan Bob Koehler who sits 3rdish row behind Attanasio. THAT is the better story. Better than Amy’s story.  Bob has like missed 50 some home games in the HISTORY of the franchise. What are they going to do about THE fan? I can almost see him being grandfathered in where he keeps his tickets without the added fee and perks. And oddly I would be more than ok with that.

Amy and Bob are icons for sure. But in the big scheme of things they're not big spenders. They each own one ticket and don't spend any money on concessions and whatnot  as far as I can tell. I'd be surprised if they accommodated Bob in that way.

Sure, it's understandable for her to be annoyed but in the grand scheme I'd wager she'll be ok. She can watch the game and keep score from slightly worse seats just fine. She just might be 7th Row Amy from now on but she can still mostly have the same experience she was already having, just with less prominent TV time.

Unless she decides to pony up for the new pricing, I don't know what her budget might be, maybe it wouldn't be a hardship for her. Nobody likes getting prices jacked up on them but if it's still doable maybe it still works out for her. I'm kind of assuming she's not going to go for it but who knows?

I'm thinking no.

"Pricing starts at $245"

how much for front row behind the plate I wonder. 500?

Maybe its time she grew up and got a life.  As a guy I certainly don't mind her, but at another level its a little tacky.   I think the act has run its course.

Filed under Cool Story, Bro: My aunt started getting UW men's basketball tickets in 1947. She got better and better seats through renewal as the years went on. After 50 years of mostly crappy basketball, the move to the Kohl Center in 1998 got her booted to the third level, because she couldn't afford it. She was always so saddened by that.

All this means is more empty seats behind home plate. Those folks are generally more interested in the lounge and other amenities than the game.

everyone else has this, it seems.  We were at the St Louis series (in St. Louis) and took the stadium tour.  Similar arrangement...difference was the lounge is behind the seat and under the grandstand...very short walk from the actual seats.

Get a life? Who the hell are you? She's a loyal brewer fan who commits a lot of money to following the team.

She certainly does.  And I support that.  But she's where she is and dressed as she for attention and a certain quasi-celebrity status.  If she wants to do that, then fine, but don't complain when the club/county try to upgrade the stadium and it interferes with your Schtick.

Edit...Maybe I'm being harsh...I shouldn't do that.  But this is an important project and it seems to me she's using her "status" to turn public opinion against the project and/or possibly get herself grandfathered into the new seats.  The club and county are working hard (and investing $$) to keep the facility (and the club) competitive.  Lets not make their job harder.

I have mixed feelings about it. The obvious is that she is an aging woman, desperate for attention. The cleavage schtick isn't hard on the eyes, but it's also kind of pitiful. On the other hand, she is more of a die-hard fan than many others, both women and men. While she likes to draw attention to herself, she's not spending the whole game chatting and goofing off, aping for the camera. She's dialed into the game like a real true-blue baseball fan. I don't know or see many people interested in keep a scorebook every game. And someone said she has to travel a bit to attend the games, not a MIL local.

Big money ruins everything. I think it's crappy that long time ticket holders get treated like this. Yet, I can't blame the organization. They have to keep up with modern baseball fan expectations. And THAT is who I blame. Spoiled, pampered fans (mostly 20-35 years my junior) who require an amusement park experience instead of a baseball park experience. Silly, unnecessary amenities, 50+ different kinds of foods that are closer to a restaurant offering than the convenient, practical "take me out to the ballgame" options, All  of that fluff requires more and more revenue, not to mention the outrageous players' salaries. So, times change, market expectations change. It is what it is. I feel bad for Amy and others like her. But she could still dress more modestly. What will be interesting to see is if she gets a new seat that's off camera. And if so, will she continue to wear the low cut shirts. If it continues, it would actually indicate to me that her attire wasn't just for getting her "TV time" as some put it.

Definitely minus cool points for the organization on this one

The thing is that some fans / companies WANT this. The Bucks sellout the BMO club every game and tickets are much more expensive than what the Brewers are charging for a similar experience. It sucks for fans that just want awesome seats and do not need any amenities, but the market dictates how teams act.

isn't that what Brewerfanatic is for......
That being said, yes this thread has gotten out of hand. I think she does have a right to be upset, but at the same point she needs to understand that this is where pro sports are going.

Right, I remember years ago when I had no idea who "Front Row Amy" was and when I asked people said all this stuff about her but when I finally saw her on TV I thought, "She just looks like any other fan." Yeah, she has a large chest, that's really not that unique. People deal with what they have in different ways. I'm sure she'd prefer people not comment on it all the time but also, what do I know? It's not really my business.

reason #70 I hate the cardinals is that stupid tunnel right behind home plate. having to watch constant interruptions just over the umpires head.

I'm sure it's all you can eat, but good lord. the staff can't keep up with the "fans" shoveling food in their gullets the entire game. I think it was last year, I watched a lady rest an ice cream Sunday on her gut as she ate it

I like to see real fans in the background and their reactions to the game.

::edit::  busch doens't have a tunnel, but it's still seems like constant table service in the background. i'll have to think about the stadium that has the tunnel with the middle aged waitress trying to collect herself while there's a 3-2 count pitch coming

Yes.  Quite odd.  I keep reminding myself that the team DESIGNED it to look like this….not like a County Stadium trying to dress for a football game,
