RobDeer! I accidentally deleted your post when trying to split it out into its own topic. My apologies!

Basically, RobD was asking what everyone's favorite pizza places in WI are. He mentioned Balistreri's in Wauwatosa and Sammy's in Eau Claire (at least I think that was it)

I can vouch for Balistreri's since I basically grew up on that pizza. Very good deep fried eggplant too!

Ha! No worries. Yes pretty spot on. Awesome to hear you are a Balistreri's fan too! I always go to the one on 68th but have been to the one on Bluemound. It's a family tradition that we go there every time we are in town.

Yes Sammy's in EC but is also in Green Bay and Neenah (used to be in Cumberland as well and several in MN). I mentioned I found out some have the family recipe and some maybe go off on their own a bit, so the one in Neenah didn't meet my expectations. Still solid.

Zad, I agree Cranky Pat's is solid too!

Sammy's seems to be everywhere. Superior used to have one, but I think they shut down.

Been to the one in Neenah, but didn't impress me much.

Always been a fan of the Sammy's in Eau Claire.

My personal #1 is Wells Brothers in Racine, which is a bit underrated in the area all things considered. Bill's in Stevens Point is also pretty good.

If I am watching a Brewers game you can't go wrong with a good Pizza Ranch buffet!

A couple others I'll add:

Superior- Thirsty Pagan Brewing

Madison- Buck's (take-out only)

I'll vouch for Thirsty Pagan. Probably my favoritist of anywhere.

Another one I just remembered:

Borner Farm Project, Prescott. They're only open 1 night/week, during warmer weather months. General idea is they grow/raise all the ingredients, and cook one night a week on wood fire. People buy their pizzas and picnic on the farm. Only went once, and it was kind of silly in a way, as it sort of had a rock concert vibe to it if that makes sense. The pizza was ridiculously good though.

There's a Lou Malnati's opening in Brookfield this year. I know deep dish isn't everyone's cup of tea but their thin crust is really good.

I used to love MamaMia's on Burleigh but they closed. Their garlic bread was ridiculous.

Sluggo's in Brookfield has great pizza too for a bar. Pizza Man is solid as well.

Heine's Pizza in Minnesota Junction is pretty awesome. They have limited hours and are usually packed for being in the middle of nowhere.

Edit: Forgot about Chances in Burnett. They only have 2 pizza ovens, so if you go in there you usually have to wait it out with a few cold ones. Haven't had it in awhile since they dont have a softball tournament any longer.

Steve's in Platteville.

Especially the Steve's in the 70's and 80's. I dream of that pizza!

Mmm, haven't had Buck's in 30 years. Pizza Oven has recently closed.

Is Buck's pizza the same as Buck's Bar?

Growing up my favorite spot was Guido G's on the southside in Milwaukee, which closed years ago.

Favorite spots now, Maria's Pizza, Pizza Shuttle, Balistreri's

No it's just a little take out pizza place on Cottage Grove road (East side of Madison.)

Their pizzas are thin, cut in squares. Not the same as Steve's but somewhat similar.

I still think there is nothing better than a super slice of sausage & pepperoni at Rocky Rococco's. Particularly before Badger football games.

As for small mom & pop shops, Famous Yeti's in Stoughton, specifically their spaghetti & meatball stuffed Yeti Spaghetti pizza.

Growing up, we went to Pizza Ville in Fond du Lac all the time. It was the best I ever had as a kid.

I've went to Cranky Pat's a couple of times. It was also very good.

I have to put a shout out to probably my all-time favorite: Mabe's Pizza in Decorah, IA (I believe there is one in Prairie du Chien, too, but it may have closed.) OMG, the BEST, Jerry. The BEST!

I miss Eduardo's downtown Milwaukee for the deep dish pizza. It was my college celebration spot (finals complete, engagements, graduations, etc..).

I'd be reminiscent as a Brewers fan who watches the game on TV to not acknowledge Pizza Ranch in a discussion about pizza places.
