I completely understand giving your best pitcher some rope. Maybe I pull him before lux but otherwise it's hard to question cc here. None of our top 5 options pitched yesterday so I'd assume they are all available today.

Man, Wainwright has been on some kind of roll in his last 5 starts dating back to the end of July.

34 Innings, a 1.85 ERA, 32 Ks, 2 BBs, 1 HR allowed, and that includes a start where the Yankees blew him up for 6 earnies in 4 innings. Incredible that he's the same guy that looked absolutely finished way back in 2017 when he was 35.

Yea who would've thought.   I think he's said this is it for him but has to be tempting to come back another year, assuming he's healthy to finish out the year.   I think I've seen him mentioned as borderline HOF type.  My gut is No without doing any digging. But if you're a borderline guy, 1-2 years of counting stats might be what tips the scales.  It would get him over the 200 W line too, which eventually could be viewed as an important number, not unlike 300 used to be, or 500 HRs, 3000 hits.

How many times have you seen a team bring in a LHP against a RHH for matchup purposes?

What are the chances Counsell takes the hint?

I wonder if platoon splits are available to Brewers management?  Do they have working computers with the ability to look up statistics anywhere in the stadium?

Maybe they max their AOL data cap on the third of every month?

You guys have been talking about how lousy Keston has been against lefties but that graphic tells the story.  Somebody should point it out to CC...

I’m usprised how little action is in this thread given how good this game has been.

Nobody wants to jinx it...?  ?

I agree this was an excellent game, in fact it was a very good series overall. A spilt with LAD outscoring the Crew 13-11 for the series.

The minimal action in the game thread is probably due to the Brewers playing really well so the "vocal constant complainers" don't have much to say...

Really getting sick of BA saying stupid things. Yeah, Keston mashed lefties his first two years. Right.

BA is a traitor.

The Dodgers have played 19 different teams this year...

Four of them (CHC, CIN, LAA & MIN) did not win a single game. (LAD: 22-0)

Three of them (CLE, PHI, PIT) are winning the season series. (LAD: 5-11)

Three of them (NYM, MIL, WAS) have played them even. (LAD: 7-7)

LAD has a winning record against the nine (ARI, ATL, CHW, COL, DET, KCR, SDP, SFG, STL) remaining teams. (LAD: 47-18)

While listening, I was busy failing to fix an old bike's rear hub. The win compensated for my abject failure (and I looked a a bunch of YouTube videos!)
