I did not know that Guerra was out of options.  Too bad as he has a live arm that's for sure.  Everything old is new again with Cousins and Claudio.

With Bush, assuming it's not a serious injury, this is the exact move I'd been hoping for. Go on the injured list. Get in the pitching lab. Figure out how to restore velocity.

I hope the Claudio and Cousins moves work out. If not, guys like Tyson Miller, Lucas Erceg and Clayton Andrews are up next, I guess.

As for a ripple effect in the minors, the simplest moves would be to re-activate two of JC Mejia, JB Bukauskas and/or Thyago Vieira to AAA Nashville. If there's a promotion from AA to AAA, any of Abner Uribe, Tobias Myers, Ryan Middendorf or Darrell Thompson could be considered.

Cousins is exactly the type of arm this bullpen needs right now. Huge K numbers. ERA skewed by one blow up outing in Nashville. Two shutdown innings his last two appearances. And...only 2 BBs...

Hopefully he can keep up that form on the big league club. He's definitely shown it in the past. Start him in low-leverage situations and he's a guy who could eventually find his way into a set-up role for Devin.

Why even mess around with Claudio, just go with Andrews and add him to the shuttle.

or Small. I agree there were better options considering his limitations and the 3 batter rule.

Andrews has been dominant for Nashville and pounds the zone with 3 above average pitches.

Small has started to find the zone in his last 2 outings but still has to string more strike-throwing outings together before he’s ready to help the big-club.

I thought Guerra would get another chance since they did trade for him. Given his struggles it looks like he’ll get out-righted to AAA; and can try to further hone his skills there.

Hopefully Guerra passes waivers and we can get him straightened out. Claudio isn't the worst call up but Miller was great in Spring and has been better in AAA. The Tigers have zero impact lefty bats and the Angels only Ohtani so the need to get innings from a lefty the next week really isn't there. Claudio probably should have been like the 4th in line for a call up in the AAA pen.

I was poking around to see if Javy passed waivers (no news) and if we were going to get him into AAA and noticed that the trade was for a player to be named later.  I wonder if part of his release was tied to completing the trade?  Maybe there are some ties to time spent on the 40-man roster and who goes back to TB?

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I thought the PTBNL ended up being Victor Castaneda.  But he hasn't pitched this year, has that been nullified?  I hope Javy clears waivers for us.

Quick Google search says "yes". I made the bad assumption it was going to be one of those "much later" PTBNL situations.
