I don't get the point of keeping Perkins. I get letting Weimer get AB' in Nashville rather than being the 5th OF here, but there has to be a better use of a roster spot.

Switch-hitter, arguably the best defensive OF on the roster. OF is pretty left-hand dominant without Weimer, makes sense to keep Perkins up.

Well, Yelich, Chourio, Frelick would be our only outfielders if Perkins doesn't make it (assuming Mitchell is going to be out for a while) Wiemer hasn't earned a spot, and is far better suited to stay in AAA until injuries happen, which they will...

You can't go in to the season with only 3 outfielders on your roster...It's either Perkins or Wiemer.

I don't have a huge issue with keeping Perkins regardless, but I think Patrick's issue is that Perkins has been told he's made the roster even if Mitchell does as well. So he'd be the 5th outfielder at that point.

Why Bauers over Haase?  I dont like it.  Ortiz hasnt hit at all, he should start in AAA. Bauers is this years Voit/Winker........hopefully they give up on him sooner this year.

Wonder if we are going to go scrap heap hunting for another OFer in the next couple of days?

Doubt it. Frelick, Chourio, Yelich, Perkins is still solid coverage. Bauers can play in the corners ina pinch, too.

Ortiz has a 327/383/521 (128 wRC+) batting line over 504 PA in AAA, I don’t think he has anything left to prove there.

Only way to find out if he can hit MLB pitching is to give him consistent PAs at the big league level.

Not to mention Wiemer at AAA and Bauers is able to cover the corners in a pinch.  OF is one place we really could cover injuries well.

I like Perkins. He only got 168 PAs in his rookie year last year, and looked like handled himself well enough that he could have a Tyrone Taylor-like role on a big league team. Top notch defender and switch hitter with some speed, what's not to like for your fourth outfielder?

I'm really thankful to have perkins now 😂 without him it would be Wiemer vs. Miles Straw probably. Not that Wiemer is a bad option but would really like to start him in AAA.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Looks like Dunn made it. Curious about JB Bukauskas, heard he was on the trip to NY as well. Are we missing another injury report or is this insurance in case of another injury? I’m guessing they are trying to trade Haase as he deserves to play somewhere. That’s probably why they are holding off on any final roster announcement.

I think he's just there in case they need to swap arms sometime in the series.

Does anyone have info on Gasser on the IL? I know it is bone spurs and he should only miss a few weeks. I guess, just don't know what bone spurs entail.
