Chris Rose has him on the Rose Rotation podcast every so often and Glasnow talks a bit about being able to release frustration in the moment. When pitching, he'll go into the tunnel and destroy a trash can or something. I wonder if this is just part of that process with him? Seems like everyone who needs to know what's happening is aware, though.

Sounds a little bit like the way Devin Williams deals with "the stress in the moment."

With many different candidates jockeying for the available playoff starts it'll be interesting to see how Peralta performs vs some of these strong lineups. A lot of 'typical Freddy' last time out but showed some moxie in getting through five in the desert.

It'll probably continue to be two steps forward, step-and-a-half back, but I really liked the look of Garrett Mitchells' ABs yesterday--even the ones that didn't result in base hits. The production he's provided is intriguing considering the inconsistencies & injury disruptions. It'll be fun to see exactly what his ceiling is.

Garrett Mitchell last 7 games look good, batting .318 and his last 3 games he was 4 for 9 with 4 walks.

It would be great if he keeps it up.  We need someone to step it up having a great end of season and playoffs when everything is at steak and on the line.

I'd say what we've seen from Mitchell so far this year (about a 5 WAR/600 PAs pace) is pretty close to his realistic upside if he can stay healthy for an extended stretch.

2022-23 (141 PAs)
9.2 BB% | 38.3 K%
278/343/452 (119 wRC+)
.441 BABIP | .175 ISO

2024 (194 PAs)
11.9 BB% | 30.9 K%
260/352/467 (129 wRC+)
.365 BABIP | .207 ISO

Walk rate and ISO both up, K rate and BABIP still high but at more work-with-able levels.

It's over, kind of bummed the Cubs lost today.

With the great crow Armstrong rolling into a double play.

congratulations Milwaukee.   Well deserved.     What an enjoyable season after a crazy offseason.    Just a well run organization

There are better ways to clinch, but then again, clinching on a Cubs loss is becoming a bit of a tradition around here.

Oh no! Craigtember to Remember fail. My heart aches for Couns and the Cubbies and their incredible fanbase and ownership group. It aches!

Congratulations to the crew. Being honest I didn't think they had it in them to start the year but they have been the best team since sweeping the Mets to start. Not a Murphy guy but dude got us here so champagne all around. Now let's make some noise.

"Let's clinch the division before we even make it to the stadium, lose 14-0 six hours later then pop the bubbly after the game and celebrate while the other team pops the bubbly in the visitor's clubhouse and celebrates too."
