It's a small sample, but no team that has had a bye in the current playoff format has won a series.

I feel like if the dodgers and Yankees lose they will change the playoffs format this winter.

In the NL. In the AL the teams with a bye were 3-1 coming into this season.

Ah! Missed that when I read that earlier today. It will still be remarkable if LA loses and the NL's #1 and 2 seeds don't advance again.

Even more remarkable that we managed to never be 1 or 2 and also not advance.

Costas needs to retire……..

I can't even watch that series because Costas play by play is so lifeless.

Can't root for the Padres as long as Manny PUNK Machado graces their dugout.  Just can't...

I agree but I dislike Mets Jesse Winker just as much. So I guess I will be rooting for the Dodgers to win the NL.

I can only assume that philliesfanatic.com is full of posters complaining about their stupid closer and their "bites of the apple approach," and if they just went all in for once they could actually win a series...

Got to think some of them will lament not getting enough established, high ceiling veterans on their roster.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Well the Phillies have actually won the World Series in fact multiple times in their history while we are one of the only teams that have never won so our complaints are far more valid.

I don't care who wins the World Series as long as its not the Mets but I think thats exactly who will win which makes our choke all the more painful.

Much respect to Lindor after hitting that salami. He just put his head down and ran the bases. Happen for him to turn it around this season, and he's hurt too battling some back stuff right now I think. Would of loved to see our vets show up like that in our series.

After the Mets game ended I flipped to the Royals game, and Costas calling that game tying triple was sooooo bad. So lifeless. To go from the Mets game where the announcers actually cared to that was very shocking. He needs to be gone. Was he ever a really good play by play guy? Or was he always this bland? I just remember him doing the Olympics. He did the World Series for a long time with Uke and McCarver right?

Keep in mind that Costas is a Yankee fan but trying to keep it as neutral as he can.  Which he didn't do very well on that triple compared to the Stanton HR, for example.
