Here is what I will be hoping for:

Josh Jung for Tyler Black and 25-30 pitching prospect

M

Castro for CRod and lotto ticket.

I think we hold onto to our starting pitching depth and do some piggy backing down the stretch.   These two help and we have Mitchell and Frelick coming back by September for other reinforcements.

Not super exciting but gets us in the playoffs at a minimum and we keep all our top 10 prospects .

Mitchel won't be back, that is my prediction.  Even if he does get healthy enough to come back, only a matter of time before he goes down again.  He simply can't be counted on, period!

I have lost all faith in the guy, and have moved on...

Mitchell is done for the year.

1) Nestor Cortes and Elvis Peguero to Detriot for P Ty Madden

Madden has some command issues but still has bigger upside even at 25. The Tigers need a 5th starter and Peguero gives them needed bullpen depth.

2) Brandon Lowe and for Tyson Hardin and Flippo Di Turri

The Ray's got Ha-Sheong Kim back crowding their IF. Lowe is injuried but should be back around the deadline. He would be the power bat we need I would expect Lowe to play 1B and DH (rarely OF or 2B) . He also has an option for next year. Hardin and Di Turri are 2 nice young pieces that are likely just buried in our system. This could be Yandy Diaz and another good prospect would need to be added or possibly one of there other IF players (Mead, Caberello, Wells) for less.

Id do second one.   Rather have Nestor for us in a contract year with few innings in him due to injury.   He could be huge for us.

I think they’ll add to the bench mostly.

willi Castro- reminds me a bit of when we added Eduardo Escobar back a few years ago. Would play some infield and some outfield for us.

nathaniel lowe- this isn’t very exciting, but he is a free agent to be. Has a solid track record but is having a down year. Still hitting right handed pitching ok. Probably won’t cost a lot to acquire.

most importantly I think we hang onto all of our mlb level pitchers.

I think the team will probably not make any big moves. I will predict this one.

Brewers: Castro (BTV 3.9)

Twins: Areinamo (BTV: 7.4)

Feel free to post some trades....

There are three in particular that have a notification it seems, when I post, and throw inconsequential garbage as a follow up post right after.

Yes, Turbo.   Give us two or three trades you think are fair and could be had.

I don’t think they will do anything huge I feel a few small moves could be made but nothing significant. As for who or what I am not sure but probably some bench help.

Brewers get: 3B Ramón Urias

Orioles get: AA Pitching prospect

Brewers get Suarez for CRod, Black, and Cortez. With Arizona flipping Cortez to the AL for two more prospects.

Brewers bring Patrick back up and move Miz into the 8th inning role at the end of August. Limiting his innings. Come playoff time, they have Koenig/Uribe for the 6th and 7th, Miz in the 8th, and Megill in the 9th. That solves any possible pen issues.

I'd be pretty surprised if the Brewers landed the premier power bat on the market for three spare pieces.

For the Brewers to win that bidding war I'd guess they'll need to include one of their excess SP with long term control and MLB success under their belt already (Henderson, Patrick, Myers, Gasser) plus a second piece better than any of CRod, Black or Cortez.

It's Cortes guys...

Thanks for saving me going into our MILB roster to find that guy. 😏

I think the Dbacks would probably prefer Patrick over the others.  Something like Patrick and Black should be close.  May need to add another piece to that but I think that is very close to what the Dbacks will get.  Not sure if that would win the bid for Suarez but it should be really close.

I don’t see the Dbacks trading Suarez until the day of the deadline if they do indeed trade him.  There are some rumors that they will just hold onto him and take the pick if they don’t get what they want in a trade.

Seems like a price worth that could be worth paying. I personally value Patrick less than any of our other young starters with the exception of C-Rod. Secondary stuff other than his fastball variations just isn't there imo.

Black remains positionless and the QOC is lagging.

Suarez is only a rental so I'd still make this trade with gritted teeth, but we're talking about potentially the one missing piece to a WS caliber roster.

While this is probably a good year to spend some guys with value on upgrades...considering the value guys like Myers, Henderson, Patrick, etc should have...I don't want to go for Suarez. I quickly looked at his splits, and 27 of his 36 home runs were hit at Chase or Coors fields. Add to it his poor defense and baserunning, and he doesn't really seem like a fit here. He might be as a DH, but as you've noted, the bidding should be pretty intense and we should probably not give up what it would take to get Suarez.

Most likely the Brewers will grab an arm on the cheap(probably one with options), an upgrade on the left side of the infield, and a 1b/corner of/DH type as our biggest upgrade. In all cases, it will probably be players that nobody is talking about...as the Brewers do a great job not leaking to the Rosenthals of the world.

If Suarez can be had for that package, then we won't get him, many teams can and will beat that offer.

By the way, it's CorteS...

Although rare, I’d rather try for both Naylor and Suarez together if we are to include a Patrick/Henderson/Gasser in the deal.

Patrick, Henderson, Black, Boeve, lotto for Suarez and Naylor.   Hope CRod can get back to the tier Patrick leap frogged him in.   That’d be quite a splash yet very tolerable for our system.

Absolutely NO WAY I'm giving up two SP's with 5+ years each of control (both who have proven themselves as reliable MLB SP's this year) for two rentals in Naylor and Suarez!  I realize we have more SP depth than any other organization, but we're going to need to dip into more of that depth next year when we lose Nestor, Quintana, Woody (and who knows, maybe even Freddy if we trade him?).

The thought behind this type of trade would be confidence in CRod equaling Patrick as soon as next season firstly.   Next, confidence Crow is for real as a MLB starter that will be successful.   Lastly, confidence Wichowski and Hardin look legit as starters.

Finally, I feel there’s an 80-90 percent chance one of Woody or Quintana are brought back especially after this hypothetical trade.

Edited to add after re reading your “no way” in all caps that maybe Arizonas pick of Henderson or Patrick and CRod would work in that package rather than dealing both.   Maybe that’s more agreeable in your mind.

Even with moving to the pen, I don't think Miz has the innings left in the tank to play into the playoffs. I'd like to see what Ashby can do if given a single inning at a time. We have enough options for long relievers with Meyers back and DL Hall pitching so well.
