So, has a team ever started a season 4-1 while giving up 1st inning HRs in four of those five games?

The Brewers allowed 10 home runs in the first five games while going 4-1. Only six other teams have done the same since 1961. The 2004 Detroit Tigers allowed 11 home runs and somehow started the season 4-1.

Ominously, no team that started the season 4-1 while allowing 10 home runs or more has ever finished the year with a winning record.

That’s not a good omen.   We have to keep the ball in the damn park.

The amount of well Turang is going to be gone talk is so frustrating. Home grown two way stud should be exactly who they should target to keep. They don't grow on trees. Why not make an offer and try?

We have 5 years left of Turang. He's a free agent after 2030. There's no need to sign him.

3 more years after this one. He's a FA heading into 2030.

This year is Turang’s first of four Arby’s seasons as a Super Two so free agent after 2029.

I would wager all my money they have tried and had discussions in the past         They've worked out several of these early signings over the last few years. Chances are they've also had several they couldn't come to an agreement on.  I think the window of making a deal was before last season, that window is likely now shut, especially after what Hoerner got.

Not a fan of Bucknor's calls, but tough to see him take one to the facemask and leave the game.

So much for the over/under on ABS challenges...lol. That was a wicked hit, though 😮

In a vacuum you may be right. But give the amount of stud IF prospects we have right now, it's a lot less likely. Also, it's 4 years away, so lots could happen between now and then.

Mis hasn't been bad by any stretch but I do wonder what his day had been like if if hadn't been for that long break in the middle of an inning. (Hope CB is ok.  Just because he's not great at his job and kind of a prick when confronted with that fact doesn't mean I don't feel for anybody dealing with a concussion.)

As a follow-up to my original post about no team that allowed 10 or more home runs in their first five games with a 4-1  record ever finished the season above 500. It should be noted that the 2025 Brewers allowed 17 home runs in their first four games and won 97 games

it’s all in how you define the parameters.
