The Tigers have two players under a .600 OPS and .200 BA in their lineup.

We have four under a .200 BA and five under a .600 OPS.

And despite that both the Tigers and us have an identical 100 OPS+ on the season so far.

Made the drive last night from the Fox Valley just in case I could catch back to back no hitters from TS and PK. Pleased as punch to not hit that parlay.

This stadium is awesome by the way. My first time. 360 sight lines (Sans the batters eye) and all of them good to great views of the game. Would recommend. I will come back here for sure.

Yes. Because our best are better than their best. But they also don’t have as many total liabilities, which was my point on the depth issue.

Swinging 3-0 to ground into a double play is today’s version of yesterdays’ bunting with 2 strikes.

We do not have a good enough offense to stupid our way into outs.

The Matos, Perkins, Rengifo, Ortiz portion of todays lineup is clear proof that we need to make some roster moves. None of those guys have the slightest chance to hit Skubs.

Wow that was a terrible decision to swing there.  Can't have that out of one of your best

He got a pitch to hit, one of the few who can actually hit right now. Maybe should have ran Turang but down 1 with your 1 or 1A best hitter go ahead and swing at a strike.

Insane decision not to run there.

Fundamentally we have exasperated our major lineup holes by doing everything we can to make extra outs the last two games.

I agree, I'm only tracking via Gameday, but if you have a FB relatively down the middle, that's the one to swing at against Skubal, regardless of count.

I’m almost never an advocate of swinging 3-0 and that AB was no exception.

Maybe if Matos or Ortiz was on deck I could get on board with this a little more. But I’ll take my shot with the bases loaded and 1 out for Sanchez a single away from taking the lead.

Sproat really did a nice job after the 1st and I just don’t understand the quick hook and again making an overworked pen carry the load.

Especially for a pitcher who they have already seen this series.

But not swinging 3-0 for that pitch that was clearly a strike just means now it's 3-1 and the next pitch might be worse. Are you just saying don't swing once you get to 3 balls and hope for a walk?

I love ball fields with that much close outfield seating. I don't want to see dingers hit off of ad signs and structure. I want to see people

No, I’m saying situationally, it’s almost always better to take 3-0. Even if it’s a strike it’s still a high probability of a walk which is a good result. 3-1 is still a very good hitters count.

Like I said, it does depend too on the guy on deck, I’ll take my chances with Sanchez, not so much with Matos.

And if you’re going to green light, crazy not to have Turang in motion to at least stay out of the double play.

Murphy’s handling of the pitching staff is just really odd to me in general. Some guys get the kid glove treatment, other guys get ridden into the ground, and there doesn’t seem to be any real rhyme or reason on who gets what treatment.
