Which pitcher / position player gets the call up on September 1st?

Pitcher wise I could see Crow or Hardin - I'll guess Crow

Position Player - Lockridge (would Love Adams but it will be Brandon)

Naylor and Uribe/Romero when they come off the IL

I think Uribe will be back before Sept 1st. Romero could be the Sept 1 call-up if he is ready, but I wasn't expecting that.

Also good point on Naylor as a 3rd catcher.

Ding, ding, ding. Both the Ps will be on the roster, and I'll guess either Anderson or Wilson will be on the outs.

If they want Crow to take a start somewhere in this stretch, they may put down either Drohan or Gasser. The other guy that we all forget about is Sproat - he's apparently doing alright lately being part of a combined no-hitter this week

I'd definitely guess Anderson is the one to go. He already was optioned before Uribe went on the IL. Wilson is there to mop up innings when needed so I think he's pretty locked in to his spot.

Blake Burke or Luke Adams since Bauers has shin splints.

Black has a better chance than Adams or Burke to be called up.

He has has a good past month but that's about it.

Black, Lockridge, Quero, Naylor and Badoo on the 40. As a fan, I'd like to see Adams but someone has to then be removed

Pitcher will continue to be the Lazy Susan of whomever is on the 40-man and rested when they need an extra arm.

Position will be either Lockridge or Naylor.  Naylor allows them to DH one of Contreras or Sanchez and then pinch run for the other.  But need Lockridge to pinch run for Contreras or Sanchez.  Maybe Frelick/Lara is the pinch runner.

Thanks to those that responded. Baylor does make a lot of sense. 14 man pitching staff will be adjusted to have Romero and Uribe and then someone Wilson can be removed. I stand corrected on my original post after reading everyone’s

Hardin isnt on the 40. After Uribe/Romero, you have Crow/Sproat, unless they make some room elsewhere

Crow is at 90 total innings already and hasn’t topped 50 innings in a season due to injuries since 2022. I suspect when the minor league season is over, his season will be over.

I would be shocked if brought up anyone not currently on the 40 man.

im guessing we will make at least 2-3 roster moves with the pitching staff in September. Other than Romero and Uribe, I strongly suspect we will see at least one outing for Crow or Sproat in September.

Spencer mentioned on the BF pod that the Brewers could gain an extra year of control for Naylor if he gets less than 10ish days of service the rest of the way. Now I’m not sure the Brewers care THAT much about Naylors service time, but it’s worth mentioning at least. Naylor and Lockridge are really the only guys who make sense based on the current active roster.

Well, that's an interesting bit of info. If it's not Naylor, it's logically Lockridge, but really because Bauers can't play outfield at the moment. A utility infielder would make sense for depth if that wasn't the case.

As we approach September and the playoffs who do we think ends up being on our 28 man September roster and eventual playoffs. I think on the pitching side Uribe and/or Romero would be the easy adds however there are some AAA relief options. On the offense, usually catcher is the best bet. I believe Naylor has like 14 days or something to lose an extra year of control, so my guess would be Quero or Ramon Rodriguez. Lockridge otherwise probably is the best player but with the OF overload would be unlikely. Thoughts?

Sorry I didnt see there was a recently posted article for this.

I merged it with the other forum thread that already existed, but it looks like the News/Rumor article discussion doesn't show up in the forums anyway...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Sounds like Lockridge or naylor. Naylor isn’t worth losing a year over. Lockridge adds very little to a stable outfield. Go with Lockridge first then.
