To be fair, I'm guessing Jake Bauers himself was wondering why the Brewers traded for him.

Would anyone have been positive of the trade if Jake Bauers said, “Yah, I wanted to quit baseball, but just had a baby and need some health insurance.”

Do we just go to the main website today at 10am for the second pre-sale...

I'm kicking myself for "freezing" yesterday when I had a chance to buy 4 tickets right away at 10am with the specific pre-sale code.  Given today's ticket release doesn't require a pre-sale code, I imagine the website will be ever more overwhelmed

I appreciate 1982, I really do, but once we finish this off, this organization can maybe finally move on from celebrating that lone year as something bigger than it was. I don't mean to belittle what that season meant to folks, and I do think they kind of moved on from it the last 5 years or so, but all the tributes to it between the 90s and mid 2000s were almost embarrassing.

That Bauers HR was probably the best sports moment of my life. I was pretty anxious and down about a Dodgers comeback after the 2 runs Abner gave up but that blast was like a signal that this team is built different. The Packers SuperBowl in 1997 was epic but I was only like 9 or 10 so that isn't the same.

I was just praying he would get a hold of one after the foul. He didn't react at all to that one off the bat, so I knew he could tell it was hooking. Then the next one he didn't make us have to watch it sail over the fence. Loved his reaction.

I thought the game started at 8, but I got a text from a friend at 7:04 that the stands weren't full, and I thought, why would they be? That made me turn on the tv. The game had started, and I ONLY missed the first pitch. 😆

Holy cow what a game!  I was hoping they'd stay ultra focused yesterday and keep the pressure on the Dodgers and they sure did.  Don't give them any hope!  I think they are a little dejected at this point.  Get up on them early today and I think they will start to give in a bit.  It would be hard not to.  Let's go Brew Crew!

Tickets got down to about $80 for this one, and looks like that was too much. Be forewarned though, parking is $65, so might not wanna go in that way if you are getting a rental.

Oh yeah, forgot about that lovely parking thing.

If it goes to game 5, maybe I can hook up with @owbc and hitch a ride.  My Dodgers friend who I'm hanging with on Friday evening might not want to go.

And you guys think our game threads are negative?

Considering the Brewers are charging $102 for WS parking ($57 for NLCS), I don't think LA has any shame in their game.

Tell him to empty the tank with those 100 MPH fastballs he's been throwing lately and let the rest of the pen take it from there once he tires and/or runs into adversity.

This word has taken on different meaning in Brewers lore, hasn't it?

This decision will provide an incredible opportunity for people to criticize Murphy and demonstrate their superior baseball acumen to the 2X NL Manager of the Year, who has somehow steered the team to 3-0 advantage over a the two-time World Series champions.

Last night, he steered us directly into a whole heap of adversity, and the boys came through for him...

I'm afraid we won last night in spite of the bad baseball decision by Murphy, not because he steered us to victory...

I mean, it was a horrible decision that had little logic. In retrospect it proved to look even worse.

Murphy is a great manager, he wasn’t thinking there.

Yup, he almost screwed the pooch there, and it could have completely changed everything.

It didn't matter in the end however, situations like that can happen again, and he needs to be better.

Yeah it was Ohtani that Murphy should have put Hall in for

Perhaps, but the real inexplicable move was to then allow Uribe to face Will Smith!  At that point screw the righty-righty "rule" if your pitcher just doesn't have it.  Murph's players bailed him out in the top of the 7th.

True, but it was literally all we had.

One magical season that ended in deep despair and disappointment, and then strangely, celebrated for decades.

I'm more than ready to turn that page.

Shows how lowly the Brewers think of Ohtani at this point.

It wasn’t ‘letting’ him face Smith, that is what Murphy wanted. Who knows why, especially after he quickly walked Ohtani. I wouldn’t want Uribe pitching to Edman at that point. I wouldn’t wanted him pitching to Joey Ortiz if he was on the Dodgers. He couldn’t throw strikes.

I can’t imagine a worse managerial bullpen decision in Brewers playoff history. The ball hitting the wall and the offense responding really saved us from the series taking a potentially bad turn quick.

Hall also saved it by no letting it spiral further. Maybe the Brewers still get to 6 runs either way but that's a much different game entering the top of the 7th if it's 3-1 or 4-1 Dodgers.

I was nervous up until the final out. We're so close now that every out is huge. This is far, far from over (I suspect Jeter noted it to Bauers during their little chat after the postgame), but now the Dodgers really have to scramble tomorrow. Thoughts:

1) This team bailed out Murph tonight. Letting Abner pitch to 5 guys was dumb. He K'd Muncy, but it was obvious he had nothing. No command. No ability to hit edges. I get that it was tough to bring in Hall to face a righty, but then he should have had double-barrel bullpen action with Patrick. Look, Murphy has had a fantastic postseason, but he's gotta wear that one because there's no excuse for it.

2) Our defense was outstanding tonight, especially in the outfield. Good positioning, clean on every play, and the one screw-up was salvaged by Chourio.

3) Gasser and Hall were awesome, but give some credit to Megill too. 4-out saves are tough, even with a 3-run lead. He didn't even have to sweat, except maybe for the Betts AB. Those three guys shut them down again, and Ashby has now had two days without having to throw game pitches. He's probably good for 4 and 5 if necessary. That's huge.

4) Even so, I think Patrick and/or Drohan are going to have to get some outs tomorrow. You can't just keep throwing the top three guys, and definitely not with a 3-0 series lead. I wouldn't trust Harrison. But those other two are going to have to do something.

5) Nothing you can even say about the Bauers and Mitchell ABs. Especially Jake's. Like Mitchell said postgame, it speaks for itself.

6) I liked our aggressiveness on the bases. Yelich had Snell read and was going on the high leg kicks and not on the slide steps. Pratt got double off, but nothing you can do there. That was great, and I think Yelich impacted Snell.

7) Playoff baseball changes a ton and on little moments. Bauers AB changed tonight. DL Hall changed tonight. Will Smith hitting one two-thirds up the wall instead of over the wall (great play of the carom by Jackson) changed tonight. Keep the pressure on them early tomorrow. Just like in San Diego, you have to make the Dodgers pay a tax if they do win. Tempt them to use Skubal if you can. Keep it close, keep taking pitches, keep drawing walks.

If we just keep on being ourselves, we're going to be alright. Let's celebrate in another clubhouse tomorrow.

All great points here. Glad I wasn't alone in screaming at the TV after Abner walks the first two guys on, after 3 hitters get him outta there and go to Hall right away to face Ohtani and Smith.

Our outfield is fun to watch. They are all fast, seem to always be in the right spot, and can make diving or leaping catches at will. Having both Lara and Sal as options out in right is great regardless who is in.

Cooper silently had a great game. 3 hits, a stolen base that led to a run. Good to see Joey get a hit late too after looking terrible all playoffs so far.

How about Gasser man? Him and Hall coming on late has completely changed the vibe and look of this team and pitching staff as a whole. It wasn't flashy with the big K numbers like Snell, but he out performed him. Amazing job.
