The 18-1 game is also the same day Adames got hit in the dugout by a ball. It was a cluster of a game.

That happened against the Giants. The 18-1 game is the game where Varland gave up 9 runs in 0.2 innings when it was already 8-1

Looking at the schedule, Wainwright has 3 chances left to get one win. (If my math is correct) two of them would be against us, one against the Padres.

Boo-urns!

Yeah, pretty nuts with their 106 wRC+ compared to a 90 wRC+ for the Brewers batters.

Looks like the Cardinals have had some bad luck with sequencing scoring 4.54 runs per game so far this year compared to BaseRuns thinking they "should have" scored 4.83 runs per game to this point.

Brewers have been on the other side of the sequencing coin scoring 4.46 runs per game so far this year compared to BaseRuns thinking they "should have" only scored 4.20 runs per game to this point.

The Cardinals have a team OPS of .751. Rank: 13. W/L: 66/83

The Brewers have a team OPS of .699. Rank: 26 WL: 84-65

I’m not usually into all the conspiracy stuff……but that does seem overly convenient with our need for a 6th starter. coming up.

There were many of us who predicted this obvious outcome in a prior game thread a week or so ago.  You better believe the MLBPA will work to put an end to this next bargaining contract.  All teams in contention use this.  Might be another outcome similar to making the 3 hitter minimum.

Any word on Yelich? If they don't plan on using him, what is the thinking about not putting him on the 10-day IL retroactive to his last appearance, and get someone else who could at least do something?

I would love for us to claim Jordan Luplow and have him play a few games down the stretch against LHP, even if he is gone a week later.

Tomorrow they will make a decision, per CC. He was out on the field today.

My main concern is for Peralta to continue to pitch well, stay the course & give them a chance to win. There are too many variables involved to just assume we'll score a bunch off Wainwright, as bad as he's been. Still, it's really amazing how few swings-and-misses he's gotten. Just don't chase (usually we haven't been) & there should be some pitches to hit.

I assume Donaldson will take some guff tonite, their fans being so knowledgeable & all.

Run prevention matters.

Yeah, luckily for the Brewers the standings are organized by W/L.

Reading through some corners of the internet one could get the impression they were organized by OPS instead.

It's not easy to barrel up this offspeed junk, especially since he seems to be hitting the corners with it.
