I don't want to face anybody in the Wild Card series.

I hate the wild card series. The pressure is going to be all on us if we’re playing anyone besides the Braves. The Mets/Padres in particular are playing with house money this year.

If the Brewers win today that puts them 1 game back of the idle Dodgers for the #2 spot in the playoffs.  Which could make next weeks series against the Dodgers a pivotal series for the #2 spot.  Then depending on the Phillies and D-backs game tonight the Brewers could be either 3 or 4 games out of the #1 spot.  The #2 spot is definitely still in play for the Brewers but the Phillies would need to go on an extended cold streak with the Brewers going on an extended hot streak at the same time.  I don't think the #1 seed is in play.

Going to be honest. If we end up in the Wild Card series, I think I want to face this Braves team the most with all their injuries. Then the Mets, Padres, and Dbacks in order.

I'll honestly be a little surprised if the Braves make the playoffs.  Too many injuries.

I like Mitchell as much as anyone, but he does not. Chourio has a better hit tool and more raw power at all of 20 years age. While playing elite defense. The ceiling of Chourio is incomparable on this team.

For extended great years/longevity that stays at their absolute ceiling for a longer period of time, absolutely agree...but a fully healthy Mitchell in his prime could put up some monster years.  That's why I say ceilings are comparable.  His health is what will determine if Mitchell makes a few all star games or if he never realizes his full potential.

Has nothing to do with health. Just go back and look at the scouting report grades. Chourio has a multi-time MVP ceiling. Mitchell does not even if he stays fully healthy.

Mitchell has a high ceiling and could conceivably put up some great seasons, I agree. But it's still just not comparable to Chourio

Walking people with an 8 run lead is amazing.

Two walks and then a 3 run dinger with an 8 run lead. If you want the recipe to get DFA'd, thats it.

Being 5 years younger helps as well.

Seriously. The absolute worst case is you throw meatballs and they hit 3 solo homeruns. Far more likely is you get an out or two and now it's 8-1 or 8-2 instead of 8-3.

Who said Mitchell was to be the best player on the team? Key word: TEAM = 9 starters plus the rest on the bench.

Of course no excuse to walk 2 guys.  But wonder if the pitchcom crap messed him up a bit.   Hopefully calms down and gets through 5 now

I would be shocked if we finish ahead of the Dodgers, they've had a bit of a skeleton lineup lately and will likely turn on the jets in September. Even with Philly I think we won't get help from them in September, we'll have to rattle off an extended hot streak to finish ahead of them.

Everything I start to get a bit down on this club they bring me back. Great offensive display especially against Sale and Morton.

I was even going to rip Bauers in this post and then he spanks one.
