I don't know where else to post this, as nobody would pay attention to yesterday's game thread at this point, but did anyone else notice in yesterday's brewers game, the at-bat where Lockridge took a 3-2 pitch for a ball, but strangely the at-bat continued? He check-swung on a pitch out of the strike zone on a 3-2 pitch, the at-bat continues, and he eventually struck out later in the AB.

Looking on mlb.com’s summary, you can view each batter’s pitch sequence. On Lockridge’s K, the sixth pitch was 3-2 count and is listed as a foul (and in the upper inside corner that might have been a strike). He struck out on the next pitch.

whether that’s what actually happened, I don’t know.

White Sox claim Pegeuro and Hudson. They are truly a 1 trick pony picking up our DFAs.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

This is just absurd.

Shane Smith (Rule 5)

Aaron Civale (trade)

Bryse Wilson (signed)

Adrian Houser (indirect, signed)

Tyler Alexander (signed after DFA)

Bryan Hudson (claimed)

Elvis Pegeuro (claimed)

Position players to round things out:

Vinny Capra (claimed)

Omar Narvaez (indirect, signed)

Have I missed any?

Does anyone think this could just be coincidence? That the White Sox scouts are telling the front office to pick up these players regardless of who they used to play for?

Because this sure looks like a deliberate strategy, which to me smacks of an unserious organization that lacks any real plan or scouting acumen.

Could do worse than claiming the 50th best Brewer, time and again 🤷‍♂️

I imagine Walker McKinven might have some influence in these decisions

If it was a strategy, they would have picked up Hiura. Now excuse me, I am going to duck out before rickh150 shows up.

I understand the rationale. But the White Sox are a business worth $1B+. That rationale barely makes sense for a fantasy GM.

How about Len Kasper on the announcing side of things?  😉

The Marlins have claimed outfielder Joey Wiemer off waivers from the Royals and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville, reports Craig Mish of SportsGrid and the Miami Herald. He was designated for assignment by Kansas City last week.

Wiemer hit 287/368/520 (134 wRC+) with a 12.1 BB% | 19.5 K% over 174 PA at Nashville in 2022.

Over 670 PA since then at AAA he has hit 201/318/310 (71 wRC+) with a 13.4 BB% | 26.9 K%.

That 71 wRC+ ranks 283rd of 292 AAA hitters with at least 600 PA since 2023.

Brewers front office strikes again. They knew to cut ties with him back then. A lot of people including myself didn't want to give up on him yet but man, he has been a mess. Still liked him, great D seemed like a fun guy.

Devin blew another save last night……..

Got to think he falls asleep at night by counting the money jumping out of his future back account. I feel bad for the guy but it is kind of funny to see the Yankees give up what they did to get what he's giving.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Devin’s FIP is 3.23. He’s striking out 11.7 per 9 (quite a bit lower than usual). 1.13 WHIP. 17 for 20 on save opportunities.

I think Devin will improve in 2026 outside of New York.

A 3.23 FIP is still perfectly fine and shakes out to a 76 FIP-, but its also a big step back from the 2.24 FIP | 53 FIP- that Devin posted from 2020-24 with the Brewers.

When those trade happened I saw comments on how Yanks have the best BP now, etc.  I thought have people not seen what Duval has been the last 1.5ish years and the last few weeks.  Then with talk like that I thought hey maybe Devin has fixed himself from the awful start, looked it up and saw he's still be struggling lately.  I did not get, but big names rule the deadline.      San Diegos BP hype, ok yea I get that

There's the new comparison when it comes time to lock up Made and Pena. If and when the Brewers decide to go that route, they'll almost certainly want to lock them up before they take MLB at bats. Price only goes up from there.
