Aaron Ashby = Manny Parra?

I’m pulling for Ashby.

I agree; I made essentially that same post some months back

Henderson sent down and DL Hall up. I’m glad Hall is back. Did it need to be Henderson to go down? I understand Priester burns final option year if he is sent down, essentially.

How long is it until we here if Payamps gets traded, pickup by another team, or excepts a demotion to AAA (I think those are the options? My thought is a week (from the 22nd). With the number of teams needing bullpen help I would think there would be a trade that at least saves the amount of money we still owe him this year.

With a 3 million dollar guarantee and an era over 8, nobody is going to trade for him and put him on their 26 man roster.  For the same reason he’s already cleared waivers.

I don’t think Payamps has enough service time to refuse being out-righted (and keep his salary), so I bet he will be sent to AAA to get his act together and maybe they call him back up again later.

When will we know if Payamps is claimed, traded, or sent to Nashville?

Today!

Wouldn’t it seem very Brewers of us if Payamps immediately resumed his eighth inning set up role if he is recalled later this season?

How can Anderson be recalled less than 10 days since optioned?

He's replacing Cameron who went on the paternity list. Replacing a player who goes on the IL/paternity/bereavement voids the required 15 days for a pitcher to be in the minors after being optioned.

Personally I think it's dumb that you can use a position player going on one of those lists to bring back up a pitcher, but it's a loophole that the Brewers have used quite a bit the last couple of years.

There is going to be a lot of "Who?!" from Brewers fans watching today when Avans comes in late to pinch run..

What I said when I saw he was added.  I've been out of the loop for the past week traveling, had no idea he was in the organization.

When Cameron comes back does Anderson have to go down or is there a loophole that allows him to stay and Avans to go down instead.

Pretty sure anyone can get optioned when Cameron returns.

They can only have a maximum of 13 pitchers, so a position player has to go down.  It is not based on who technically replaced him on the roster.

Hmm……🤔

That’s a weird one. Feels like we’re being cheap and costing McGee 5 days of service time and MLB salary.

This might be a stupid question... but I guess I've never thought about it before. If a MiLB player is called up to the Majors without a big league deal ... I'm assuming he gets paid a prorated portion of the Major League minimum for the time he is up with the team. As referenced above, is that prorated $$ based on games played or is it days with team? Do they prorate the minimum over 162 games and they are paid per game they are here or do they prorate the minimum over the number of days in the regular season and each day up is a paycheck? The second thing makes more sense but I've never thought about it.

I’m assuming Ashby just takes Mcgee’s spot …….so they are keeping Myers.

i guess I assumed Perkins would be back when healthy…….did they have to do this because his rehab was up and he’s not ready yet?

and what happens if Sal has to go on IL…..we would need another center fielder.

If Sal goes on the IL, Perkins can be recalled.
