While Vaughn has a .931 OPS in 39 at-bats as a member of the Sounds.  Maybe he can be the next Keston Hiura. Hope I'm wrong.

You want another player for the forum to argue about, but never actually produces at the MLB level? I thought we had Tyler Black for that?

Only if you want to build up below MLB avg players.  You forgot Joey Wiemer also.  If they produce even in spurts over the course of a long MLB season and have average or above ending #s  I'm happy.

It's the averages below .199 I don't like unless there gold glove caliber "D"

Isn't that Joey Wiemer?

So 3 games does not a season make but Vaughn just had a big hand in the Brewers sweeping the Dodgers.

Solid start to winning the trade and Brewers still have option to keep him in 2026 if he keeps it up.

ps hoping that the brewer fan reaction meter continues to be accurate……the more people hate it……the better it usually works out……🫡

Civale is 0-4 with 5.40 ERA, 5.60 FIP, 5 K/9 for White Sox.

Hard to take that into free agency

I have no ill will towards Civale - he was trying to do what he thought best for his career/pocket book BUT had he just taken a deep breath and let the situation play itself out we would have very likely traded him before 8/1 and he would have gone to a contender who needed rotation depth. Possibly he could have been starting in a playoff chase.

Instead he spoke up for himself (which is fine), ends up on the 2nd worst team in baseball and has struggled, making him untradeable now? So he will have to remain in the rotation and turn this around in Chicago..

I'm wondering by betting on himself and speaking up if he is going to end up costing himself millions?

This was my point all along.  People were insistent that he would lose millions if he had just pitched out of the BP (as if he would suddenly forget how to start??).

So instead of pitching out of the BP (where he gains the advantage of not seeing a line-up three times) in front of an excellent defense... he is showing himself to be a bad option as a starter and a player who was unwilling to be flexible for his team and made sure to put himself first.

Still will be moved at deadline….still.

Any recent interviews with Vaughn out there? Particularly interested in what he's had to say about joining a contender, what he thinks about the organization, etc.

Yeah the brewers have no idea how to develop young talent.

Even though Vaughn may very well return to the player he was with the White Sox he was one of the main reasons they swept the Dodgers. That in itself made this trade worth it, a small win and who knows it could turn into a big win.

Definitely impressed with Vaughn this series and have already gotten more out of him than I expected.

No matter what happens, we got him for pretty much nothing. And even if all it ends up amounting to is a few moments, and not a future 1B, that’s totally fine. Some guys are here for a short time and in that time they have a few memories and help us win games. Those kinds of players matter, too. Rowdy Tellez was one of those guys for us.

I'm hoping Vaughn is Erik Kratz basically.

Oh, they do.  But not with him….they jerked him around endlessly, even when performing well.

I posted that like 10 days ago "Vaughn looks far better than Hoskins on both offense and defense."  So I stand corrected for sure on that call.  As for Tyler Black, Hoskins & Mitchell they all should be on the board as trade bait this off season maybe even Perkins also.

Instead of us always acquiring injured players maybe we should start trading them. Because the Brewers seem to have a good eye for unrealized talent.

Sophia did one of her post game interviews with him after game one of the dodgers series, and he didn't say much.. seems to be a man of few words.

Agree to disagree. Even when he was hitting well all the signs that ultimately resulted in him failing were present.

Hoskins is a free agent this offseason I believe…..and after last year he had no trade value at his 2025 salary……which is why he picked up his option.
