Henderson is hurt and on the IL.  Myers is pitching in his place.

This is the first game this year where I don’t feel confident that the starter can go 5-7 shut down innings.  Not saying Myers can’t do it but this could one of those games where we get lit up early

I am still wiped out from last night's game. Huge crowd, hot night, amazing ending. Went with three of my brothers, one who doesn't follow baseball. He asked me about the team, and I told him to watch Blake Perkins play centerfield. Turns out that was a good call. There was another play (Marte AB in the 7th) where between pitches, Perkins took ten steps to his left between pitches. Ball was lined right to him. Played perfectly. Such a joy to watch play defense.

Tonight would be a good night for the offense to put up double digit runs like they did against the Nationals.  Not feeling real great about Myers but hopefully he can keep us in the game.  Montas has been horrendous this year.

Actually feel pretty good about Myers today. Think he’s turned the corner. Not sure about how many innings he can eat, but I think he’ll pitch well.

Tobias Myers pitches 5 scoreless against the Mets in an elimination game, we know he can step up. The Mets are the ones that should be worried about him.

I’m actually kinda glad we are getting a my least 1 legit start from Myers here. He was so good for us last year so I’m still optimistic he’s a reliable starter for us going forward. 
 

I know he had a real clunker of a start when he got optioned, but I’m not too worried about that.

Gives up a homer to Soto, two walks to Nimmo, and a single to McNeil.

I want to again remind everyone, Tobias last pitched over 50 pitches on July 4th. I imagine the Brewers are hoping he can get through the Mets line up twice as a best case scenario. 

Hopefully, Tobias shuts me out with a 7.0 IP vintage throwback 2024 masterpiece.

Pat telling it like it is. So refreshing to have a man so comfortable in his own skin. He is honest and candid and has a sense of humor to help deliver many of the messages.

And, given this,  I am already preparing for another off season - regardless of how well or disappointing this current season winds up - of fans unrealistically expecting something different and then putting the age old 'Attanasio is Cheap. He steals sand." complaint sector on 'Repeat and Rinse' Cycle. As predictable as the sun rising and setting. Instead of marveling at how incredibly gifted and talented this current group of people within the organization are, the vast majority of fans will complain they don't have the eye candy offered by bigger market deeper pocket teams. We saw it yet again at the Trade Deadline. It legitimately never ceases to amaze me how much people love to complain.

I'm cautiously optimistic re Myers today. He was more-or-less read the riot act when he allowed all the walks in his first couple starts & seemed to have cleaned that up. But no, we shouldn't expect him to go deep at all. IMO this would've been a good day for Hall to go a couple/three as an opener, then Myers.

In fairness to the BF community, do you think a majority of posters are reasonable? I feel like we’ve gotten better as this season has progressed. I guess that’s what an 80% winning percentage does. 🙂

It is understandably frustrating to be constrained by making the playoffs but rarely having a championship caliber roster. This year feels different. In any case, what the Brewers have achieved in recent years is remarkable.
