It appears my Coleman Crow prayer circle has worked. For my next magic trick, I will coax him into throwing a no-hitter.

Sweet, always super excited to see a new arm get a chance. Do we expect Harrison to piggyback or are we just moving everyone back a day?

Edit: Nevermind I just read we are moving his start back a few days. So I would guess maybe Hall goes a few innings after Crow, Woody starts on normal rest and Harrison goes Sunday or maybe even Tuesday after the day off.

Brewers win the Houser/Taylor trade!

Houser was worth -0.9 WAR with the Mets and Taylor 2.9 WAR. Now Blake Perkins has been probably as good as Taylor (2 WAR, less playing time) so that plays alot into it. I would say if we get like 20 good innings out of Crow it is a win at any point in the next couple years it is a win.

How about a blowout to get Woodford and McGee some work.

How about we rock them mama like the wind and the rain and rock them mama like a southbound train.

Here's the original trade thread for anyone who wants to take a pretty fun trip down memory lane.

Fair points. When you add the $5 million New York paid for Houser and the $9 million for Taylor, Milwaukee adds through subtraction.

Houser will make $18 million from San Francisco over next two seasons. 😳

Has there ever been a more replacement level pitcher than Janson Junk? I say that mostly positively.

From 2021-24 he was pretty much the epitome of replacement level with 367 IP of 3.83 ERA | 4.35 FIP at AA/AAA but only 40 IP of 6.75 ERA | 5.55 FIP in MLB, but last year he turned in what pretty much amounts to like #3/#4 SP kind of production in the modern pitching hellscape with 110 IP of 98 ERA- | 76 FIP-. Out of 127 pitchers with at least 100 IP in 2025 he was 43rd with 2.5 fWAR but his 1.4 rWAR was only 84th.

Given his age and track record last year was probably a career year for Janson, but I think he's at least elevated himself from replacement level to a cromulent swingman.

I can see him having a Jordan Lyles-esque career

A lot of talk the Brewers could have just selected in the rule 5 draft and in hindsight probably was for the best to just stash in the minors instead of accruing service time, using an option a year early and greater flexibility with th 40 man in 2025. Taylor would have been useful in 2024 but the Brewers also ended up getting Perkins most likely  best year in the majors so a wash.

Side question for MLB.tv users: Where is the "start from beginning" option for a game in progress?  Or is it just not an option anymore?  I haven't found it yet this season, and I'd really like to watch Crow pitch when I get home from work. Thank you in advance.

Wow, that’s some real hoops to bend through to support your point!

Less playing time than Taylor? It’s like 40 PAs difference (660+ to 700+), that’s like 8 games difference.

I reinstalled the MLB app to my TV, now the game always starts at the beginning by default no matter when I tune in. I have to click the “jump to live” button to catch up.

The app on my phone is completely different so it’s probably just different versions of the app on different devices I guess.

Let's hope tonight they can hit the Junk.

Too bad the Marlins don't have a reliever named Heater.

Then we could see if they can hit the Heater after the Junk.

So any guesses on who the bullpen replacement will be tomorrow after Crow pitches today and gets sent down?

I'd say there's a chance Crow stays up and just moves to the bullpen. I think it depends on how he pitches today. If he has a short outing and they burn a lot of the pen then they probably swap him out for a fresh arm. If he pitches well and goes like 5 innings and the pen is in fine shape then he might stay up and get pushed into the pen.

Huh maybe I will delete and reinstall the app on my firestick then.  I've been a little annoyed by it but the Crow debut calls for action.

I realize this is probably the old curmudgeon in me talking, but it seems like when they update an app, half the time it makes it worse instead of better.
