Freaking Jays. Tough to win a baseball game when you can’t get a run in from 2nd with nobody out not one, but two innings in a row.

For all the understandable announce about Yeli hitting leadoff this year, the Jays have Myles Straw there for some reason.

Blue Jays 1 for 19 with RISP kept the Cubs in the game and now the Cubs can win it in 11 with the top,of their order.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Rooting for a looooong, bullpen destroying, extra inning game loss for the Cubbies here.

Will you settle for a momentum boosting comeback win for the Cubs.?

How long has this song been a thing after Cubs wins?

It’s been awhile. Maybe 20 years.

I never realized how crappy the line up is for the Jays.  Geesch!

Didn’t they just go to a World Series?? Shows you the strength of the AL.

Momentum comes and goes in baseball. If we continue to handle our own business for the most part, as we have been, we’ll be fine.  Don’t need another 14 game winning streak, just don’t need an extended slump either.

If Brewers won a low scoring 11 inning game with 5 hits and 3 walks we would be hearing about how the offense is a problem and it's clearly not sustainable.

Guerrero is usually in the lineup but he’s having a bad year. They’ve had a lot of injuries too.

Seems like people were pretty pumped about Contreras walk off HR a couple of weeks ago and that was a similar type of game..

Many of those guys had some excellent performances in the postseason in 2025.

Good reminder that our role players are just as likely to get hot at the right time.

I'd guess more around 40.  Been around since I've been going to games there, which is about 20 years but it was already a 'thing' at that point.

If they didn't sign Okamoto (1.8 WAR leads their position players) and Cease (AL best 4.3 fWAR) in the offseason they might not even have fifty wins yet.

Haha. The demise of the Brewers may have been slightly exaggerated on the Monday game thread.

You are definatley the king of hyperbole.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

They lost Bichette and were plagued by injuries all season. Pitching remained solid but they had a brutal offensive collapse.

I dunno, that doesn't sound nearly Cub-obsessive enough to me..........😆

This.

And it cuts both ways. Cubs sweep the Dodgers and come back today and gain.....1 game. Go back to the end of last week, and it's even, since we took 2 of 3 in Anaheim while they dropped 2 of 3 to the Yanks.

Division will most likely be decided by our 7 remaining games against the Cubs. Go 4-3, and they're really going to have to run it up. Even 3-4 is an uphill climb.

If anyone is nervous, Cubs are +325ish to win the Central. About the only thing sports betting is good for is emotional insurance, so... there's that.

As for today, good win. Twins have a night game in KC, so the Brewers should be better rested. Hopefully we can grab 2 of 3 and get the Royals hot against CHC.

People complain about the Brewers and their lack of execution, but if people watched enough games of other teams, they'd see just as many (and more likely more) of the same issues.
