As Francis is on my fantasy team, I was hoping they would just intentionally walk Lindor to set up the double play. They paid the price not listening to me.

I was saying to my coworker, Jays went from witnessing a possible no hitter to down 5 runs...all in what could have been the last half inning of play.

The Dodgers gave up 24 runs to the Cubs in the last three games.

The Dodgers are not invincible.

Cubs are scoring 8 runs a game in their last 20 games. And that is after losing on two shutouts to the Yankees last weekend. They are raking.

Totally GROSS...

Only a matter of time before the unis start looking like the Korean and Mexican leagues...  Started with the little advertising on the sleeve, now the helmets.  It's coming.

God, I dread this corporate nonsense.

Never heard of Strauss as a brand and had no idea what they even sold until I just googled it.

So their plan is already working...  Imagine how many people just did the same exact thing as you?

I work for a company that advertises on golfers. The c-suite goes nuts about how our search numers go up after one of our golfers does well.

Oh I realize it.  I can pretty well guarantee I won't be purchasing any of their products but I'm likely not their target demographic.

If you went back in time to the 1990's and you said there was going to be a DH who will hit 50 HR's and 50 SB's you would have been laughed at and ridiculed even if you go back to the early 2000's this would have been unthinkable.  There is no way that Mo Vaughn, Cecil Fielder, David Ortiz or Frank Thomas would steal 50 and hit 50 HR's.  But in 2024 Ohtani is about to reach that being only 2 SB's and 2 HR's away from a 50-50 season.

There has never been a player that played any position to do that. There has always been a few DH's who didn't fit the big, slow, power hitter mold. Paul Molitor is a prime example. Not having to play the field probably doesn't hurt either.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

It was kind of a bummer with Molitor.  He was plenty good all over the field, it was just a matter of keeping him healthy that forced him into being a DH.

I shudder to think what scoring in the National League would be like if they still let pitchers hit.

I was honestly just thinking about the NL DH not long ago, anybody actually miss the pitchers hitting? I don't.

There's a 5% part of me that enjoyed the rare exciting moments that could come from it but mostly it was just a free out in the early innings and not much different from what it is now in the later innings.
