IMO he's thinking just a liiiiitle too much. If you're starting Turang that's fine, just leave him in the leadoff spot & drop everyone down a peg.

I think his view is he might be able to get Turang one or two less abs against the lefty depending how the game goes.

Especially considering that for his career, Adames has significant reverse splits.  .777 OPS vs RHP, .709 OPS vs LHP.

That being said, once you get beyond Sanchez, the pickings are slim vs LHP.  Ortiz has major reverse splits in his brief career of 180 PA's, .915 OPS vs RHP and .568 OPS vs LHP.
