All right! Put your numbers up. How many wins during the 2025 season for the Brewers? Pecota says 79.6, 11.8 wins behind the Cubs. That is a 21-game flip from last year. I don’t buy it.

Whole numbers only, no .5 wins.

Put me down for 90. Come on Thursday! Go Brewers!

I'm officially going to go 86. Brewers start slow in April because of the SP injuries. Battle back throughout the season but finish just shy of the postseason.

89 wins.

Will it win the division? Possibly. I don't consider the Cardinals or Pirates as contenders at all. I think the Reds are as bad as they're projected to be; I don't buy their 2023 position player breakouts, and their pitching (particularly the bullpen) is bad. Which leaves the Cubs. Who could be good. Their starting 9 is good, both offensively and defensively. But I don't buy their position player depth, their rotation won't be as good, and while their bullpen improved it was with 3 36+ year olds with declining velo.

So they could be good, particularly if their starting 9 stays healthy. But I do think the projections are too optimistic about them, and the wrong injuries could hurt them badly. Steele or Imanaga going down would result in a pretty bad rotation, PCA is the only CF on their 40-man and would see them relying on rookies starting. Things like that. If the Brewers are in the high 80s, they'll probably be neck and neck with the Cubs I would imagine.

88-74.

This is a better team than last year because of their young positional core getting better through development but the division is better, particularly the Reds & Cubs, and the NL is incredibly strong.

3 team Central race most of the year, with the Brewers & Cubs going to the wire. Toss-up who wins.

If our division is even the slightest better 87 wins would be a very good season.

I think our continual pitching injuries will catch up to the Brewers, so 87 wins is what I will guess.

I don’t understand the Cubs predictions. They won 83 games last year and ostensibly traded 3 players (Bellinger, Paredes and Wesneski) from their major league roster  for Kyle Tucker.  That’s a lot of versatility and bullpen innings to give up for an increase in offensive production.

While Tucker is terrific he’s also on an expiring contract. Will be interesting to see how the Cubs season plays out, if they are in 3rd place or worse in the Central do they keep Tucker and take the comp pick when he leaves, or do they try to recoup some of the talent they spent to get him, by swapping him off to a contender?

85-77. The injury bug bites their pitching staff yet again. Woodruff won’t it make it to August. Chourio .280/.337/.498. Cubs win the division in a close 3 team race with 90 wins and the Reds with 84.

I think 87 is a pretty good guess, so that will be my official guess.

I do believe there is potential for 91, though.

And, worst case, I think we'd be at 79 wins.

They've averaged 90.3 wins per 162 since 2017, so I'm good projecting that for 2025.

666 wins since 2017 is 6th in MLB.

Doesn't get much more devilish than that.

If we've got Uecker pulling strings from the heavens above and dark magick rising up from the fiery depths below, this could be some kinda summer.

Just to sneak one more triple six in for good (bad?) measure, I'll go with 96-66.

Knowing Bob he would have the Brewers win the division by two games or so it is interesting the full 162.
