Is Freddy Zamora worth a look in the bigs to push Ortiz a little bit?

I don’t know much about him, from what I can see he profiles as your standard light hitting, slick fielding middle infielder. He’s hitting better in Nashville this year though and is getting on base at a really good clip.

Bad thing is, he’s also a righty so it’s not going to be a platoon option.

Just trying to see since the trade deadline has expired if there are any internal options for the bench that might be better than what we currently have.

I just don’t think Pratt is ready and I don’t think pushing him will be any good for him or us.

So we know Collins …….

Maybe not all... after a mild panic, I did remember that he has a child on the way. 😓😀

Siegler, after he had to come out of yesterday’s game?

IIRC, Murph said before the game yesterday (I think it was after Tuesday's game) that they were going to be short-handed for the weekend.  So, I don't think it's Siegler as that happened after Murph's comments.

My guess is that it is a family situation (i.e. funeral) that someone may be away for.

Sure hope Hall didn't do that throwing his glove on the ground in the dugout yesterday.

He came back out and threw the ball really well after that...I thought. 95-96, hit his spots.

I wish we had SOME idea of these injuries. Mis, we knew that was a 'lets just give him more time off,' but Henderson and the elbow and now an Oblique. This time of the year, it could be the end of their seasons(or they could be back in 15 days and just limiting their workload).

For those of us who Twitter/X doesn't load for, the move is:  Recalled Zastryzny, optioned McGee

I figured McGee might be going back, but had no guess if it'd be Zastryzny, Yoho or even Payamps coming.  I could see the merits and drawbacks of any of them.

Because Gasser is technically optioned, I assume that means that they can't call him up for 15 days except for someone else going on the IL, correct?

What value does Berroa actually have on the 40-man? I assume he would be the next one DFA’d if we need the spot.

What other players are bottom of the 40-man roster who could be DFA’d?

I was a little surprised by Dunn, but he’s older & had a bad year … or two.

I think you meant career instead of year.

That's how I read it now that you mentioned it.  I guess it would depend on the actual wording vs media wording(example they probably said Patrick was optioned when he was the 27th).

But based on my understanding he is on the major league IL and has to be active to the major league roster and then optioned to the minors.  Seems silly unless they had no intention of bring him up in the next 15 days anyway unless there is an injury.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

I believe you can call up someone earlier after the minor league season ends.

Look he's nothing special but he made it to the majors, in no world can that be considered a bad career.

The  Crew swept the Dodgers twice.  Why can't they do it here?

Go Rockies...

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

From what I can see that isn't the case regarding the 10/15 day rule..

I believe they had to option Gasser because a pitcher only get 30 days on rehab.
