Optimism thread!

Right, I don't get why that is difficult to understand

The biggest difference between last year and this is that the Brewers aren't waiting until the end of May to bring out the relentless pressure offense.  It will get in the heads of opposing players that they can't make mistakes,  which will cause them to make mistakes.

And the offense should be even more fun once Chourio and Vaughn come back.

to be fair... 50% of our games have been against the AAAA White Sox...

We might not face a Top 15 pitching staff until the Blue Jays in Series 5

I love our start, but beating the White Sox & Rays is not exactly beating the Dodgers and Blue Jays

See yourself out of this thread with that attitude!

It's nice seeing his name become more of a household name, get a little more respect. You like to see that with any of our guys. And he's backing it up too with great D and offense. I just get sick of the comments and posts saying "resign him now! Or he will be gone this season traded away" when they don't realize we have him through the 2029 season under team control, along with most of our current core. These guys will be with us a long time still...then we trade them and reload...and keep winning. Rinse and Repeat. And keep doing that and one of these years we'll get lucky and hopefully win it all.

If they continue to ring the bell regarding the draft & player development, trades & other personnel decisions it might not take as much luck as we all thought.

You can't rinse until you lather. The Brewers are the best team in baseball by doing all the little things right. Follow their example.

Since this is the optimism thread. I'll suggest that the post-lockout world will - somehow - allow teams like the Brewers to be able to afford to sign players like Turang past their current contract.

Then again, maybe we don't want that - we've been good at playing the roster management game as it is...

It may or may not make signability more possible for the small market teams. The good news it, it won't mandate it. The Brewers can keep doing what they're doing, which as you said they're pretty good at. Then if a Yelich or Braun comes along & wants to stay here on a doable deal, great.

I think they'll always be dollar-conscious.

Brice Turang has a 0.8 WAR through 6 games. By my math that is over a 21 WAR season on the way.

And Joey Weimer is on pace for 24 WAR, as we all expected!

My biggest hope to come out of the lockout is that any team can actually afford to keep generational talents for their careers if both sides are interested. How different would football look if Jordan Love or Rodgers went to the Giants after their rookie deals? The NBA wouldn't even be watchable for Bucks fans if we had to count down the days until Giannis would move to a larger market.

Its really bad for baseball that Pitt fans know Skenes will be a Dodger or Met in a couple years. Hopefully that changes as I'd love to see a big 3 of Turang, Churio, and Made spend their entire careers in Milwaukee (realizing there are quite a few parallels to Yount, Molitor (who obviously didn't stay), and Gantner).

The Royals and Rays are .500 in games not played against Brewers.  And the White Sox are 4-2 in games not against the Brewers.
