Something is going on with Skenes.  Not sure what it is, is he just tired of the Pittsburgh grind, and a change in scenery will fix it?  Is there some kind of injury, or discomfort going on?

If he is 100% healthy, I'd consider Made straight up, but then again, I'd change my mind 10 minutes from now.

Imagine Miz, Skenes at the top of the rotation, then we grab Skubal at the deadline?

Miz, Skenes, and Skubal, with Harrison as our #4?

Ok, ok, I'm awake, I must have dozed off for a bit...

His velo is down about 2 mph from last year. Good one against the Braves last time out.

Not much prospect love for Burke in this thread. That's a head scratcher. I guess he is perceived as too "lumbering" maybe? Haven't checked his defensive assessments though, so maybe that's a knock? And everybody has Fischer as the darling 1B of the future instead maybe. I see Burke as the good contact for average, lower K rate, above average power better version of Vaughn. Make Fischer the DH of the future if he gets his K's down. The BIG BAT baton was handed from Braun to Yeli, and it's likely to be passed to Fischer.

I see them as insurance for each other. One of the two hits, we're good. They both hit... we'll have to find ABs for Burke the next couple years until he can take over at DH(by then maybe someone else steps in)... but I'd be in no rush to get rid of either one.

I'd say Fischer is far more likely to be the 1B of the future though. The RHer in Fischer and the lefty in Burke.

Man, talk about a kings ransom. But not while he's throwing 94. I think right now his value would be where Soto's was when he got traded.

Three years with Mis... we should be able to keep Made as well in theory, but the Pirates wouldn't trade with us. The pen also takes a huge leap as you have Sproat throwing maybe 2 innings out of the pen, maybe his stuff ticks up, Henderson, same thing.

That’s kind of the point. If the thread title is what prospects would you be willing to deal, the honest answer I  think is any of them if it’s the right deal.

…. although Turning2 would keep Made seemingly no matter what. 😃

Normally I'm on board with trading prospects for proven MLB players. I don't trust pitchers to stay healthy. There is probably a greater chance of Skenes getting injured than Made washing out.  If somebody was dumb enough to trade 3.5 controllable years of a proven/consistent 25-30 HR power bat (if such existed), I could be persuaded.

Fischer bats lefty

- I think Burke is more likely to play for 10 years in the Show. I think Fischer is more likely to become an All-Star.

- If a healthy Skenes for Made were on the table, both teams should take the trade, and neither would.

The problem with trading players like Skenes with multiple years of control is that you won’t get back the value you really need.  While Made for Skenes is equal value wise it would take more than that for the Pirates to trade Skenes.  Including more than Made for Skenes doesn’t make sense for the Brewers and only getting one prospect back for Skenes regardless how good the prospect is, is just not enough for the Pirates and wouldn’t make sense for them.
