Like I really thought everyone here would be in love with this. It’s a versatile top 30 prospect with control, pop, speed, and can get on base. He can probably be either a super sub or be an immediate upgrade from Joey.  And a fringe top 100 pitcher.

I don’t get how anyone can possibly be disappointed. It’s Myers plus a year of Freddy. We were never going to re-sign him. What was anyone expecting? This is the literal highest of high expectation that I thought we could get.

I mean, an upgrade from what Ortiz offers from a batting perspective is not a very difficult bar to clear. And isn’t super sub basically just a utility guy, but slightly fancier?

I hope the pop he has shown in the minors is legit and translates well to the MLB.

I think this is underwhelming for Peralta. The Brewers needed to get a big bat to play OF or SS. Williams isn't anywhere close to that. He offers nothing that Milwaukee doesn't already have an abundance of: little guys with almost no power who can play multiple positions. Certainly nowhere near the bat that they needed. Sproat looks to be a middle to bottom of the rotation type pitcher. He can maybe get a spot in the rotation, but the trade does absolutely nothing for the Crew this year.

Jett Williams hit 17 HRs last year with a .204 ISO. He has power.

Could not have really asked for a better return. My guess is Jett ends up a Perkins replacement.

For me it's not that I dislike the players we got, or fail to understand the logic of the trade.

I was hoping to see Peralta and Tobias pitch for the Brewers in '26.  My thought being that gives us a pretty good shot at another great season (we still have a good shot at it, mind you, but of course Peralta makes the Brewers a better team. And Myers potentially too.) and maybe even win a pennant or something.  Which can still happen of course.  Whatever, I'll miss Freddy and Tobias.  I don't want to root against them, but I have no love at all for NYM so that's what it's gonna be.

Hopefully this ends up being a great trade in the long run.

Glad the Brewers traded Freddy as I am not sure I could go another season wondering if he would be good Freddy or bad Freddy in the first three innings at 70 pitches and only 1 out in the third inning.

Really surprised the Brewers got this much in return for him.

Great return. Sad that Freddy has to go and I love Myers but this is a trade you have to make.

My guess is Sproat will be taught a cutter. I think Williams gets a chance in ST, if he dazzles I can see him making the 26

Watching Devin Williams close games for Freddy Peralta in New York is going to be trippy.

Kind of crazy that 3 of the pitchers that pitched in Game 3 against the Mets in 2024 are now on the Mets.

Super Utility, then 3b/SS if either don't hit next year, and then a longer-term Turang replacement when he gets too expensive in arbitration. A great futures move the Brewers have to make and I'm surprised they were able and willing to get quality over quantity. Was expecting two barely-top-100 prospects and a third scrub.

I get the "go for it" idea, but the Brewers going for it and missing pushes them way back when they can't just rebound through FA like other teams.

Sure feels like we are just piling up prospects in AAA to wait and see what happens with a potential lockout.

There is a timeline where Jett, Pratt, Lara, Burke, Dinges, Made, Pena, Adamczewski, and Fischer are all still off the 40-man and playing in AAA in 2027 while the big leaguers are sitting at home. We are gonna get a player or two out of that group.

They traded a player whose absence makes the 2026 team worse, for 2 players who may or may not help them this year.

Another hard throwing SP. The great thing in Sproat is he hit 140+ IP.  That makes him available to pitch a full season.  Williams-a 5-7 height- you are well aware my ceiling feelings. 100 pct if he can play SS has a real chance to be OD starter.

Ortiz is on alert….actually he probably has an automatic spot on the team because of his glove even if not starting.  But a…yeah, it will be competition to start, relieve, and at short.

The amount of really good infield prospects in our system is getting a little nuts. I have a feeling we'll be drafting some outfielders this year!

If Freddy’s era matched his FIP last season the trade might be more acceptable to some……..I trust Arnold……he has certainly earned it.

If there is a lock-out, doesn't that mean that the minor league teams are also locked out?
