Sanchez challenging pitches while batting doesn’t seem to be working that well.

As a team this is a new area of the game that we’re overall gotta get better at. Near the bottom of the league.

Back to back 4-hit games for Wild Bill coinciding with back to back games wearing a glitter belt.  I’m guessing we will see another glitter belt tomorrow.

Good win not letting the Misiorowski injury sink the team’s vibes. Need at least one more in DC before the expected returns of Chourio and Vaughn. Really could use the reverse sweep from earlier against the Nats.

The thing that really has to stop is challenging calls in non critical situations. When you’re ahead 6-1 it doesn’t really matter if a batter is facing a 1-2 count or a 2-1 count. You might really need that challenge later in the game when the opponent has a couple of men on base.

Okay. We will see. From July 30:

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio left Tuesday night's 9-3 win against the Chicago Cubs with a right hamstring spasm, the team announced.

Which was changed to a strain when they put him on the IL.  Again, they are completely different. A cramp lasts for a couple minutes.  A strain is typically 2-4 weeks.

Missed the game today and sometimes I start towards the end. Can we not talk about Chourio hamstring injuries from last season?? Thought he'd been removed from rehab start.

Also, why did Black get removed?? Match ups?

Because Murphy wanted an HR to seal the deal I'm guessing, no injury involved.

And my point is that no one knows the severity of an injury in the immediate aftermath. They were described identically at the time of injury. Allow me my pessimism.

Lefty righty matchup…..Gary has mashed lefties so with men on he went with the platoon advantage

Was at the TRats game tonight.  Just got home.  Cold but fun.  Fischer hit a walk off 2 run homer in the 10th after going 0 for 4 and 4 strike outs through 9 innings.  Pretty rough night for him at the plate ended well.

Pena bobble head night, but he didn't play and hasn't since he collapsed in the dugout last week.  Apprently seeing a neurologist on Monday?  Dinges went 1 for 4 with a single.  Hall went for 2 for 4 with a home run.  Adamczewski went 0 for 3, BB, and an RBI on a sac fly in the 10th when the Trats were down 2 runs.

Yeah, I've seen enough poo pooing of injuries from Murphy and others only to be much more serious that keep guys out for extended periods of time. I hope Miz will only miss one start at worst, but I'll believe it when I see it.

A strain and a cramp are completely different.  If it's actually just a cramp he might miss one start but probably wouldn't miss any time or just have his start pushed back a day or two.

If it's really just a cramp, he won't miss any time at all...

I did not get to listen to the whole game tonight, I was following on ESPN game tracker.  All I know is Miz had  no hitter and then Ashby was in.......what happened?

Great job by Ashby getting out of the minor jam.  Mitchell's K's are quickly becoming alarming. He's whiffing at a 40% rate.

With a .390 OBP it doesn’t really matter

I know it is just the weekend remaining until the boys come back but I don't see a reason not to swap Leonard and Jones on the roster. Jones will clear waivers and we are not going to bring him back up anyway.. give his 40 man spot to Leonard so we have another RH option who can give you a competitive at bat. Send him back for Chourio on Monday. Haven't needed a clutch PH at bat thankfully in the last handful of games... but I will be saddened if any of our plastic left handed bats face a tough lefty late in a game because we have no options this weekend. Seems an easy move to make the roster better for 48 hours.

Definitely. There's been a lot of talk about the 'hole' in his swing at the top of the zone, but it's not only there TBH. Lots of pressure being put on opponents due to the speed on the roster, provided contact is made. He's failed a # of times, today included, where all you need is that contact, not necessarily a base hit.

His lack of touching the ball could've been a killer tonite had it been a closer game.

I get that it matters less than old guys like me once thought, but on a team that relies as much on speed as this one does putting the ball in play is more important than it would be for a team like the Diamondbacks whose lineup primarily relies on slugging to score runs.

Not that I wouldn't use him.  I would and given the current alternatives I'd use him most of the time.  But the strikeouts matter in my opinion.

He's been doing that all season, all his career yet his still productive when he plays. Nothing has changed. After five years in the majors he finally crossed the one season 162 game threshold and is a 4 WAR player.
