My first contribution on this site

Not trading Pena, upside too high (Tim Raines Like)

Sell High on Fischer, Adamczewski, Dinges, Ebel,Burke

Keep Adams, versatile (OF and 3b in a pinch), on base, power coning now.

Made: never

I'd trade Letson or Hardin if it involved in getting a topline starter or Buxton

Keep Payne (see Pena above with more power)

Keep Quero, more time on the arm coming back?

I love Lara and Pratt, keep them now, but in the future those contracts could make them both very valuable trade assets.

Keep Frias and Ragsdale

Welcome!

FYI Dinges hasn’t been catching because he’s been playing through a minor injury.

What is the injury that stops him from catching?

Shoulder impingement. He hasn’t caught since early May

Quero, Dinges, Jett

Not sure what exactly that nets you. If you want a needle mover, you probably need to send one or more of Fischer, Pena, Adamczewski. I don't think they'll trade either of the contract extension guys. Some younger guys not in the top 10 that might draw significant interest for a rebuilding team: Frontado, Frias, Antunez, Handelfry

That’s kind of the thing with Williams. His play in AAA so far is validating  the concerns of evaluators; mainly that he may not have enough power given his size.

He certainly won’t be on any prospect lists once those are rewritten following the draft. Does anybody trade for him as a centerpiece in a deal for a veteran player of consequence?

I would be very surprised if Baseball America ranks 40 players above Jett Williams from this draft.
MLB.com MIGHT rank 17 guys higher.

Baseball Prospectus would have to put about 60 players from this draft into the top 100 for him to get knocked out. I don't think it's at all a certainty.

With Pena having so many issues like hitting at the end of last year and injuries this year he might starting to be my answer. With him having top 20 prospect value we could get a really good return and we have IF depth and lots of rising prospects to cover losing him.

His hitting at the end of the last year? A ~100 AB sample size after being moved up in his age 18 season to HiA?

If that was an issue, it was immediately rectified this year when he was raking at HiA.

The depth is... hardly a concern. He's a 2B, he's in highA. He'll probably be in AA next year(if there's a AA) and IF all goes well for the 20 year old, AAA in '28... at which point, Turang could be on his way out.

The getting sick at 2nd on the field twice this year is... something. Not sure it's a whole lot given they did all the tests and watching him, he just looked like he felt sick(the look when you're dehydrated and you drink too much at once... was what it looked like to me, but I'm not MD, but they did get him back on the field) and the hamstring is... really nothing for a prospect.

He hasn't really raised his value, but I feel like there's ONE issue and that was the "passing out," and the way it was described, at least the 2nd time, was very dramatic.

Truly a luxury to have so many good prospects that we feel MIL can afford to move some.

Williams and Pena.  I don't see where Williams fits other than as a utility infielder, backup OF. Pena because I want a power bat at 3B and Made to take 2B once Turang moves on. I want Fischer, Adams or Wilken at 3B and Burke at 1B.

My second option would be Williams and Lara only because I prefer a bigger frame in outfielders. They'll keep Lara and I hope he wins me over.

For a team driven by the "more bites at the apple" philosophy, they need to apply that to their developing power hitters. Don't trade any of the several sluggers who have 20 - 40 HR potential, not yet anyway.

I don’t think you can trade Peña anymore this year because teams will want to be absolutely certain about his health. You’d be selling low, I believe. I’m not too unhappy about that because I believe his upside may be even better than people think.
Same problem with Williams… You’d probably be selling low right now given his performance recently.

I think now is the time to make a decision on Lara. If the Brewers don’t think that profile will really work for them or if they feel they already have the same player with Sal in right field, then sell high on him right now. I am a fan and would hate to see that move, but it would make some sense.

I think there’s no chance they trade Lara a couple months after signing him to a long year deal.

I think its short sighted to deal Pena. He has freakish speed, great plate discipline and could probably play most anywhere. This would definitely be selling low.

Williams' 2026 has been a rare disappointment for the org. Selling low but definitely a possibility if the price is right.

Lara is part of a logjammed OF. I dont know that anyone outside of Payne and maybe Adamczewski shouldnt be part of the conversation.

Agreed on Pena.

Agreed on Williams.

Agreed on Payne and Adamczewski, keep them both, do not trade them!  I'd trade Lara before both of them, even though Lara is closest to helping us now, these two guys could very well be our future in the outfield alongside of Chourio...

Jett is having a down year, but he's still only 22; 4.1 years below league average.  I think an astute GM is going to keep that in mind.

Generally you're not going to get full value on A-ball players.  Teams generally place more value on players who have made the jump to AA.

With Pratt and Lara signing extensions, with needing Henderson to get them through the season, with Pena's health issues, with Fischer's monstrous power numbers, and with Made being untouchable for basically anyone not named Bobby Witt Jr. or Gunnar Henderson, this exercise is getting a lot harder.

I'm inclined to flip the original question around just a bit. What trade target(s) are you willing to give up top prospects for? Looking at the DiamondCentric top 15 list and frankly there isn't much there. Some useful pitchers sure, but with our current options most of them don't seem like big improvements. And there are no 3rd baseman listed. Moreso than in past years largely because of the amount of young talent still on the way all over the diamond in my mind if we make a deal it needs to be for a needle mover type (barring some very quirky injuries). So for me Skubal is definitely worth a significant package. That playoff rotation would be something, and it pushes all those backend guys who have looked good early but had difficulty going deep into bullpen roles. Chapman wasn't on the top 15 list, but a veteran shut-down reliever is someone I can see adding to the mix there is still likely a notable cost but some significant potential benefit to the team.

Beyond that I might be talked into Sonny Gray as enough of an asset to be worth paying a significant prospect (obviously less than Skubal). Or Jeremy Pena if people thought he could shift to 3rd? Definitely an upgrade in offense the question is what would his defense look like there.
