But your high school debate coach would be proud for citing sources in your argument. Good try chap.

You were doing fine until the last sentence.

Yes but his diabetes is under control.

I have type 2 ……it is under control……I have had no issues with injuries or healing that were different than before my diagnosis.

obviously I’m not a professional athlete and this is anecdotal.

Yes may be true but your not trying to steal bases and run down fly balls.  Also Type 1 diabetes what Mitchell has is more severe due to its autoimmune nature and the need for lifelong insulin management.. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys insulin-producing cells, Under control and normal is not the same thing.  Like saying I don't eat butter, salami or bacon so I won't have high cholesterol.

Feels like citing Medical Journals as evidence WOULD be more approved by a debate coach than 'trust be me bro... I think Will Salmons wrote about it a couple years ago.

Dr who has dealt with Type 1 Diabetes for 40 years... on the panel talking about the difficulties. I'm guessing he's wrong.

Man, I've not a seen a more obvious "hey, do you want a starting job and a multi million dollar contract next year or no?" situation than what Andrew Vaughn was just handed. Cheering for him and us.

Anybody able to find any injury updates on my dearest Salvatore?

Crickets.

Sal posted something very banal (no mention of any injury) on Instagram Monday. I don't know. I would guess the MRI didn't find anything major but probably showed something. Would bet on an IL stint but imagine the team is waiting in order to a) see if things improve or b) see what internal/external option is best.

Perkins is easy choice, obviously, but trade talks are probably hot, and maybe an OF is involved.

I haven't seen anything yet either.   But I think they mentioned it was a lingering thing for him before Sunday.  With the ASB a DL stint is really only 6 games for him.  IMO if its borderline you might as well do it, give him the week.  It's tough teams to play, but better safe than sorry

1-3 weeks for a grade 1. Pretty much best case. I'd just IL the guy, but I am sure Sal only wants that as a last resort.

As much as I hate taking him out of the lineup against the Dodgers, yes. I think we should IL him and have him at full go by the time we play the Cubs.

1-3 weeks just before the 4 days off for the ASB is about all you could hope for. Maybe he just skips the road trip to stay home and rehab in time for the Marlins/Cubs series.

Overall, this is great news. I was very worried it was going to be a tear. However, it might be best to put him on the IL to save Sal from himself. He doesn’t know how to play any way but at full-speed. Great news though!

There is no advantage to IL him now.  They can back date the IL to when he was injured, so I am sure they will wait until the end of the all star break.

You can only backdate a player three days from when you put them on the IL.

This. Which by my count is...today.

The Brewers have a history of this stuff it seems. Not a huge deal, but one very minor area where I disagree a bit with the team's approach.

I suppose if Sal can PH by Saturday, it doesn't matter at all.

I expect Frelick will be put on the IL and be eligible to return after the road trip.

I would consider it a win if he is ready to play by next Friday.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I think Mitchell being done for the year, is a DFA when needed. Reassign him to AAA. I assume he's a 60day IL and not affecting the 40man.  I don't know how the 40man spot is affected come offseason? But if needed on Rule 5 protection or drafting, Brewers should remove him off it.

I'm surprised Frelick (aka Salvatore as he's weirdly called by some on here) wasn't put on the IL.

I really hope they don't rush him back and he re-aggravates the injury.
