Who are the three targets you want to see on the Brewers come August 4th? This can be however you want to view the trade deadline: modest pick-ups, a reasonable push, an unreasonable emptying of the farm, however YOU view the deadline.

I get it, you don’t like the cut of Sanchez’s jib, but even as a joke the whole Haase thing is really silly.

His career is close to over.

1, Adrian Morejon - Would love to push Ashby down the leverage list and Morejon is a stud

2. Clay Holmes - Vet groundballer who I think can eat innings for us and has a long history as a RP so will be comfortable being shifted to the pen in the playoffs. I think he's very likely to decline his player option so you don't need to worry about next year 

3. Lane Thomas - RHH who hits LHP really well. Would like another bat who can hit LHP.

i'm not saying I want us to trade for all three guys, those are just my top three trade targets individually.

Bleday - CIN

Two SP whose acquisition improves the pen by moving Drohan, Henderson whomever to the pen to limit their innings.

Bleday can play all 3 OF spots and has some power off the bench. 
 

Probably could acquire all 3 without giving up their top prospects

Looks like Lockridge is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment today, and I don't see any RF who is likely to be available who is better and either doesn't come with a bad contract or isn't going to cost a ton in prospect capital.

My boss (principal) is Skubal’s dad.  He thinks Tarik will get traded to Milwaukee IF they decide to trade him.  He can’t stand the Tiger’s GM and can’t  wait to get his kid off the Tigers, though. 
 

With so many of infield prospects, why not deal for Skubal and shift gears a bit for once?

I’d also love to see the Brewers shift to Mason Miller if they can’t get a starter.

I really don’t see any game-changing hitters on this year’s market.  If any team deals for a hitter, you’re hoping for one of those two-month turnarounds like the Braves had in 2021 with Soler and Rosario.

With something like 23 of 30 teams within reasonable striking range for a playoff spot (and the impending lockout) I kind of get the sense that this year’s deadline might be an overall dud.

Ryan and Morejon are my picks but if we want to make a YOLO trade for Skubal I’m all for it.

Always fun to think about. But this is like talking with your spouse about next summer's vacation - pulling up pictures of Bali and Athens and Madeira - but both of you know fully well you are going to end up at the Kalahari in the Dells to save some money.

We are going to end up with whatever this year's version of Lockridge is. Brett Harris or something like that.

There have been years where the Brewers have allegedly been in on some of the headliner guys who were traded at the deadline. And the farm system has assuredly got other GMs eyes all over it. Perhaps soon our offer will be the one that wins. I’m not predicting or even advocating a big trade. I think you just never know.

1. Skubal — gives the team a trio of starters that can beat the Dodgers best 3 starters. 

2. Morejon — dominant LH reliever that would allow the Brewers to move Ashby to a fireman role, which imo, is his best role.

3. Singer — innings-eating back-end starter that would help with innings-protection for Miz-Harrison and get rest for Skubal until playoff time.

Reliever, reliever, reliever.

I think last year has people snakebitten and thinking they are farther from LA than they really are. They got cold at an awful time. They're not the sexiest lineup but they can do enough. Miz is the Wild Card that if he's on he can shut anyone down. The biggest hole for me is the closer spot. They will have to close a few high pressure 2-1 games to win the World Series and I am nauseous about MeGill or Uribe doing that. Doesn't mean they can't or that they're bad players, but it's the weakness.

Yeah I was absolutely convinced last year we were going to finally make an all in type trade at the deadline and we ended up with Lockridge and an injured reliever whose name I can't even remember. Until we actually do make a big move, I'm just going to assume it's another year of very minor trades.
