Areinamo, Patrick, Wichrowski, Wilken and M. Rodriguez just missed and are on the same tier as 16-20. As much as I am looking forward to Anderson , Ortuno, Corobo and Encarnacion getting going in the ACL and Fenelon and Antunez debuting in the DSL, it is tough for me to have them crack the top 25 right now. I considered Dinges as well, but the likelihood of sticking behind the plate would have to go from possible to probable or he'd have to display this offensive aptitude at a higher level before I would have him crack this group. If the Brewers weren't still having Luiyin Alastre hitting behind Walling in the Mudcats order, I might have snuck him at least higher on the also-ran list.

this was tough, but it was also really fun. What an interesting group of prospects. There is a lot of depth. There are 6-8 really strong prospects. Recent high draft picks don't look great, but recent well-over-slot lower round picks. And also, what do you do with prospects that were top ten prospects but didn't show a ton in their debuts and/or got hurt and have missed significant time. I'm very curious to see what these rankings look like.

He will get a Jackson-esque contract
  2. Craig Yoho
Higher chance to thrive as a reliever than Misiorowski as a start so Yoho at #2.
  3. Jacob Misiorowski
If he can put it together, then he could top this list. Curveball consistency the key?
  4. Bishop Letson
I think he can be the total package.
  5. Robert Gasser
Past MLB success has him penciled in the rotation whenever he comes back.
  6. Luis Pena
Power and youth leads the way. Can he excel at third? If so, path gets clearer.
  7. Braylon Payne
OBP and D alone make him top 10...if he can SLG too, then this will be his floor
  8. Cooper Pratt
We are so close to seeing Robin Yount 2.0 in Milwaukee with this one. Needs to be consistent at every level. Cannot wait for him to go to the bigs.
  9. Jeferson Quero
Low because of the serious injury. Will be higher if he proves he is back, but then he displaces Haase quickly.
  10. Eric Bitonti
Lefty bat will play and his numbers look good. So high up because he doesn't have glaring swing and miss nature...for now.
  11. Carlos F Rodriguez
Only this low because he was called up too early last year and did not produce enough to stay up. Looks great now and looked great pitching for his country. Can start in the MLB and not be a #5.
  12. Manuel Rodriguez
Has a long way to go but that is what these lists are all about. WHIP needs to stay down as the KO/9 stays over 9
  13. Josh Adamczewski
Must sustain success all the way up but a 2B that hits like this needs to be high up.
  14. Mike Boeve
I still believe you can wake him up and he will hit doubles for you...shame we always have to wake him from a hospital bed?
  15. Marco Dinges
A catcher that hits will be top 20 over a high draft pick that cannot hit. I think this kid is on to something.
  16. Josh Knoth
Injured but spin rate. Huge upside at 19.
  17. Brock Wilken
Is time already running out on Brock? Plays a premium position and can get on base. Almost assured of a cup of coffee, something not every prospect can say.
  18. Jose Anderson
Taller than Lara, younger than others, and costs a lot of money so he gets this space.
  19. Filippo Di Turi
Much higher on young INF than other prospects. Decent start to 2025 so hope remains. Pena and Quintana could also very well be here.
  20. K.C. Hunt
More so than the Patricks and Hendersons of the world, I think KC Hunt is more likely to follow a Burnesian path from AA to the pen to the rotation than others. His early 2025 ERA is not good, but he always seems to have a low WHIP and a KO/9 that is +9.0. I really like that in young arms.

Tyler Black, Luke Adams, Wes Clarke? When and where are they going to play in the MLB?? I am over the top 100 ranking for a player than cannot get on the field. Chad Patrick and Logan Henderson are great stories and I hope that they continue to have MLB success, but I see regression coming.

I really, really debated on adding Yerlin Rodriguez as I love the Ks and the arm but getting old-ish for A ball. Cornielle, Gillis, Hardin, Wicho, Holobetz could all be here...but I was going to go with the closer. Not enough of a pedigree on the others listed here. If they continue to do well and show up like KC Hunt then I will add them in the future.

EMJr strikes out too much for me. CCrow is too injured.

Everyone else, I simply do not know too much more about....including Jorge Quintana whom I may love as he is a young INF but no to Jadher as I hate his swing.

Is probably #1 based on hype, but I'm not so sure that he's better than Pena and Payne (neither of which would be put at #1). The three headed Hydra of MadePenaPayne comes in at #2.

Made has shot up in rankinkgs like crazy. The tools are interesting. Ony thing is wait and see if he is our next Chourio or if he goes de Hedbert Perez route.
  2. Jacob Misiorowski
To me, this is Miz's final year to show he can become a starter (R5 eligible at the end of the season). Control is the final hurdle. Things look good in the early going (13.5 BB% vs 14.4% last year) but I need to see ideally under 12%, or something like 12.5%
  3. Jeferson Quero
Quero is staying here thanks to his track record from 2021-2023. When he comes back, we need to see if he has regained his ability to throw. If he loses another season he will start going down for me.
  4. Cooper Pratt
How did we get him so late in the draft! He is electric! An ok start in Biloxi so now all he needs is to go up! Also the power looks different this season!
  5. Robert Gasser
Was fantastic last year. Hope we see him in September.
  6. Tyler Black
#1 Get well soon. #2 Fix that leg kick so you can hit your way into the lineup. #3 Find a defensive home
  7. Mike Boeve
Another injury. This year is rough for prospects. Looked great in Biloxi last year. Would not be shocked to see him in Nashville in September (if he gets healthy fast)
  8. Logan Henderson
I've sang Logan's praises for a while. Looked great in MLB. If either the cutter or the slider can become even 45 grade pitches then that is our #4-5 for the next few years.
  9. Eric Bitonti
Early in the season but it is looking great. Walks are up, K's are down (please get it under 25%) and he is hitting liners like nobody's buisness.
  10. Luke Adams
Early struggles but the batted ball numbers aren't bad and the discipline is there (sometimes a little too much!)
  11. Brock Wilken
Has not been great to start the season, but hasn't looked awful either That HBP really broke him :( Looking for a bounceback season.
  12. Carlos F Rodriguez
Rough start to an MLB career but he has been fantastic early this season. My guess is we see him again relatively soon,
  13. Jadher Areinamo
I undrstand he needed work on "pitch recognition" but he should've started in Biloxi. Gotta fix that funky set up though. Don't want him to be carried by his sheer ability to hit but be stopped by higher levels with no way to adjust (a la Wiemer).
  14. Brett Wichrowski
Last year was great. Hoping he joins Biloxi soon.
  15. Luis Lara
The speed and defense have always been there. The hit tool isn't terrible but not spectacular and he has basically no power. On track to be a fantastic 4th OF/ Pinch runner type
  16. Josh Knoth
Lost season, maybe even part of next, to TJ. The stuff and K's are impressive but we don't hace much else. Interesting guy, lets see how he does.
  17. Luis Pena
Fantastic DSL season last year and opening to Carolina this year.
  18. Braylon Payne
I didn't love him as our pick last year but he has been going strong and proving me wrong.
  19. Josh Adamczewski
Another beast who I think we will see in Biloxi at some point this year. That swing is so beautiful.
  20. Marco Dinges
Has been hitting great. The throwing is iffy but the receiving is not bad. Hopefully he sticks at catcher.

Reaaally tough list to make. There's alwasy like 15 guys competing for the final 5 spots. It was between Holobetz and Dinges for that final spot.

Other guys I like: Woodward (I hate injuries!), Burke, Fenelon, Hardin, Cornielle, Letson, Wood, diTuri, Ordonez, Birchard, Rodriguez, Guilarte, Anderson, Hunt, Meccage, Baez, Woessner, O'Rae, Nicasia, Langhorne, Torres, Vire, Aquino, Brown JR, Bowman, Childers, Kuehner, Yeager, Middendorf.

Guys who missed:
Yoho, Patrick- Pitching well in the majors. Rookies, not prospects in my opinion (even if technically speaking they are considered prospects.
Durbin- Would not have cracked my list. Also unlikely to be sent down any time soon.
EMJ- Too old to be a prospect. To me he is AAAA depth who just needs a chance to prove himself

This was legitimately difficult to do. This has to be the deepest system that I can remember. I would love to see a better top 20 in all of baseball.

To make things "easier" on me, I left out guys that are currently on the active roster.

  1. Jesus Made
My ratings are an orgy of recency bias, and I'll own that. Made has carried his skills from the DSL into low A. I'll dream on his upside over anyone closer to the big leagues.
  2. Luis Pena
Here's where the recency bias starts to predominate. Pena looks very nearly as good as Made . . .
  3. Braylon Payne
. . . and Payne looks very nearly as good as Pena. He lands behind those guys because he's a few months older and not an infielder, but he's still an 18 year-old cf in low A. Of course he still has a long way to go, but getting this kind of HS talent under slot? What a great draft pick, and my present favorite prospect to follow.
  4. Jeferson Quero
Hard to rate him right now. He very well may be a better bet to have an impact big league career than the youngsters, but we won't really know until he gets back on the field.
  5. Cooper Pratt
He's hitting in the Southern League. His defense has worked out so far. He isn't doing anything too exciting, but he seems to be right on schedule.
  6. Jacob Misiorowski
Welcome to the AAA pitchers portion of the program. I've been lower than most on Misiorowski his whole career, but he's getting harder to deny. He has stayed healthy (I'm typing this with one hand and knocking on wood with the other). His command is showing some improvement. His time is coming.
  7. Logan Henderson
We've seen what he can do in the majors with his two pitches working. I'm not betting against his continuing to command those pitches and getting his secondaries presentable.
  8. Robert Gasser
Looked really good last year. Left-hander. Strong prospect pedigree. Doesn't rely on top-line velocity. I feel good about his comeback chances.
  9. Carlos F Rodriguez
A forgotten man, and many people got down on him after he scuffled last year in his emergency call-up, but he sure looks like he has taken his game to the next level.
  10. Eric Bitonti
I'm on the fence about Bitonti right now. He has more than held his own in low A at 19, but it's hard to get too excited until his vaunted home run power shows up in games.
  11. Josh Adamczewski
What do the guys at 1, 2, and 3 have that Josh doesn't have? Two years. That's it. I can't say it's fair -- 20 at low A is perfectly legit age for level. It's even better for high A, which it's getting increasingly harder to keep Josh away from.
  12. Bishop Letson
I'm trusting the BF pitching experts in ranking him this high. Age for level and performance to this point look very good.
  13. Ernesto Martinez
    He looks ready.
  14. Mike Boeve
Speaking of forgotten men . . . he has done nothing but hit. Not sure if he hits enough for 1b. Not sure if he can stick at 3b. We need to see him at AAA.
  15. Luis Lara
Rating Lara this high is all about age for level and scouting accounts of his skill set. His results so far have been solid but unexciting.
  16. Josh Knoth
    Holding pattern.
  17. Caleb Durbin
Here's where I start punting. I don't see anyone else in the system whose skill profile, performance, and age for level clearly warrants putting him ahead of guys who have already earned spots in the majors and show meaningful signs of contributing.
  18. Chad Patrick
    See above.
  19. Craig Yoho
See above again. Yoho is a lot more fun than Patrick, but starters are a lot more valuable than relievers. If Yoho ends up as the closer, it's a different story, but I don't think we're having that conversation yet.
  20. Brock Wilken
Lord help me, I'm going to trust his prospect pedigree for one more round of rankings. Getting beaned can mess with someone for a while. I just feel like he still has a path.

As everyone knows, this system is absurdly deep.  It's also very much in flux; I could see my list looking very different in four months.

It feels weird to leave Jadher Areinamo off my list.  He's 21 at high A, plays all over the infield, keeps hitting.  He's a real prospect,  Same goes for Marco Dinges, whom I'm very high on.

A few other guys who may be conspicuous by their absence from my list . . .

Tyler Black: Who the hell knows at this point.  He could realistically have a better career than anyone on my list, or he could keep fading away.

Luke Adams: Just feels to me like he won't make it.  His numbers have gotten worse at every stop.

Juan Baez: Probably would have made my list if he was off to a better start, which I know is shallow of me.  Very concerned about his think tool.  (Yes, I just made that term up as far as I know, and yes I want it to catch on.)

EBJ: I've been rooting so hard for him, but it feels over.

A bunch of other guys have already shown some evidence that they could end up better than some guys on my list -- just at a glance down the sidebar: Holobetz, Wichrowski, Quintana, Di Turi, Burke, Meccage, Anderson, probably more.  I just need to see more and/or better from them.  Again, this feels like a very volatile system, in the best way -- lots of rapid churn.  Exciting churn.  We're way past the point where limited guys like O'Rae, Clark, and Wood can sniff the top 20.

  1. Cooper Pratt
Pratt has moved into the #1 spot for me. He's succeeding at AA (and looked good in MLB ST) and has all the defensive tools to stick at a premium position (SS). While the slash line at Biloxi doesn't exactly scream 'superstar' the sub-10% K-rate combined with his .440 SLG and .173 ISO tell me that he's managed to tap into more power against better pitching while actually improving his plate discipline. That's incredibly meaningful for a player at his age. Reminds me a lot of JJ Hardy right now.
  2. Braylon Payne
Payne is more raw than L. Pena and J. Made, but I'm more confident in his tools as 70-speed guys aren't supposed to be hitting the ball 110 mph at Payne's age. He's still a work in progress defensively, but should be fine eventually in CF. I just see such a high ceiling on Payne right now and think that moves him ahead of several other talented players.
  3. Jesus Made
This #3 ranking on Made might seem a bit harsh, given his age, national helium and success so far in Carolina. But I just like Pratt and Payne a little bit more at this point. I actually think all of these guys have top-15 overall type ceilings, so this is not a knock. I question Made's ability to stick at SS long-term more than Pratt and Payne. But a switch-hitting player with Made's offensive ceiling at 2B/3B is still a really, really good prospect.
  4. Jacob Misiorowski
There's still a lot of reliever risk with Miz, but he's far and away the best arm talent in the organization. There's just a lot of variable outcomes for him depending on what role he fills. If the command he's shown in early 2025 is legit, he might end up being the most impactful player on this list. But if he ends up as a high leverage reliever, he can still be good. Just not in as valuable of a role.
  5. Jeferson Quero
Quero is hard to rank because we haven't seen him play much since spring training of 2024. Is he going to be the player we saw prior to the shoulder injury? Or has the combination of the injury and the missed time diminished his overall ability? Really tough to tell at this point. I'll leave him at #5 since he's a catcher and still pretty young. But he's a big question mark.
  6. Luis Pena
After Pena, I think this list drops off a bit in terms of high ceiling players. But it's worth noting how talented this group is that a guy like Pena comes in at #6. He honestly could be #1 in the system by year's end and has already had a very nice showing at Carolina. But, I'm even less confident Pena will play SS in the majors and I think he doesn't have as loud of tools as Payne and Made. But the plate discipline and overall package is still very good here.
  7. Marco Dinges
This ranking is 100% contingent on Dinges being able to play catcher down the road, but his bat already looks advanced for A ball and his athleticism makes him a really intriguing piece if he can stick behind the plate. There might be a bit of recency bias in picking him this high, but I love the offensive upside here and at Catcher, you can live with more of a 3TO approach - although he hasn't whiffed much as a professional yet.
  8. Eric Bitonti
I like Bitonti a lot, but he's sliding down this list a little bit. Mostly due to the quality of players who have come into the organization recently, but also because he now looks like a 1B prospect instead of 3B or even corner OF. He probably has the best power ceiling in the org. But he's very susceptible to breaking pitches in the zone and the swing and miss concerns he's showing in Carolina after ~200 PAs at the level is a red flag.
  9. Craig Yoho
Yoho, to me looks like an immediate impact high leverage reliever for a team that relies on their bullpen to overperform. That gives him enough projected value to slot into this team's top-10. The change-up and slider/sweeper are devastating pitches and the sinker is good enough to set up both of those offerings. Won't be shocked to see Yoho make an All Star game or two in his career.
  10. Brock Wilken
A bit of a forgotten man in the Brewers farm system, but I still see enough there to give him a #10 ranking. After a brutal season that was a real struggle after getting HBP'd in the face and having vision problems, Wilken is back at AA and looking... okay. He's got an extremely passive approach that is delivering a high OBP, but he's also taking a lot of pitches a player like him should be trying to drive somewhere. Not writing him off, but he needs to start hitting the ball again.
  11. Carlos F Rodriguez
I'm guessing I'm higher on CRod than most, but I think he's got a usable pitch mix and he got thrust into MLB action way before he was ready last year. So far looks really good at AAA and whiff and K rates are up. I think he'll contribute as a back end SP as early as next year.
  12. Logan Henderson
Despite his awesome MLB debut, I'm still wary of the significant RP risk of Henderson who really only has two pitches at this point. He was able to make that work against an A's lineup that was pretty aggressive, but more veteran teams will make him pay for not having a viable third pitch.
  13. Caleb Durbin
I like Durbin a lot, but his ceiling seems pretty limited. There's a lot to like in his swing decisions and baserunning ability. But I don't see him ever being a great hitter or an elite defender at 3B. He can be a grinder, which is a great utility IF profile.
  14. Brailyn Antunez
Going straight upside with Antunez here. He could move up a lot by the end of this season, too. He's a big strong kid for his age and I think the power will translate. Just going to have to avoid the Ks.
  15. Tyler Black
This is a precipitous slide for Black, but he's injured again and still doesn't have a defensive home. He's running out of time to make an impact with this organization and the fact he couldn't beat out Jake Bauers as the LHH 1B option for a second year in a row is very concerning.
  16. Mike Boeve
Another injured player who is tough to evaluate. But I like Boeve's defensive chops and bat to ball skills a bit better than Black at this point. Unfortunately, I think he's a 1B only type guy in a system that suddenly has a lot of them (Black, EMJ, Burke).
  17. Bryce Meccage
Has looked really good in Carolina so far and I think he'll move through the system quickly. Probably the second best arm talent in the org after Miz.
  18. Robert Gasser
Considered not ranking Gasser because of his age and injury status, but he's probably deserving of a mention. He's really not a prospect anymore, but qualifies technically due to getting hurt after graduating last year. A bit nervous about any loss of velocity from his TJ surgery as he really couldn't afford to lose anymore. But still think he's a pitchable lefty in MLB as a #4 or #5 SP.
  19. Josh Adamczewski
Love what he's doing in Carolina with the bat, but his defensive limitations (2B-only) make me nervous about his eventual path to MLB with Milwaukee. With the likes of Turang, Pratt, Made, Pena, etc in the mix for middle IF spots, I just don't know how Adamczewski is going to make it unless his power takes a big jump and he's suddenly an elite offensive profile at 2B.

Adams and Adamczewski are the odd men out for me, as I've made room for Patrick, Durbin and Letson. I was high on Henderson and Manuel Rodriguez in prior lists, so I'm pleased they're continuing to progress.

I'm not giving up on Hunt despite a relatively slow start to 2025. But I have dropped Wilken (15th in my last list).

  1. Luis Pena
Love the swing, love the speed, love the contact level, love the surprising bat speed so far, and I think he is going to get stronger and be the best of this bunch. Defense needs some work, but it will come along.
  2. Jacob Misiorowski
Normally a possible ace would be number 1 on my list every time. He still has to prove to me his consistency. Can we see 4 starts in a row without a blow-up?
  3. Jesus Made
Most of the power so far has been to the opposite field. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing or neither. For me the top 3 are really interchangeable. Made with a little bit more power at this time, and Pena with a little more hit over power. I dont think the gap is that big between these two.
  4. Braylon Payne
Upside is still there to be a Top 10 overall with the athleticism. Too many bad swing decisions so far and too much swing and miss overall.
  5. Jeferson Quero
Shoulder injury on a defense first catcher is kind of scary. Prove me wrong. He would likely be number 3 for me otherwise.
  6. Mike Boeve
I still think this is the best bat in the system. Only rated this low due to his lack of speed, lack of strong arm, and overall defensive value.
  7. Logan Henderson
  8. Cooper Pratt
  9. Bishop Letson
  10. Robert Gasser
Waiting to see how he comes back from surgery.
  11. Tyler Black
Oh how the fall has been real. Get back and get healthy. Hope they start giving him some reps again in the OF.
  12. Jose Anderson
The player I am the most excited about besides Pena and Made. There must be some reason why they left him off of Carolina, or was it just to give more opportunities to prospects that have been in the system longer?
  13. John Holobetz
  14. Brett Wichrowski
The injury, the meager end results of last season, and a loss of velocity have still left a mark on my perception. That being said, I still think he has the best stuff in the system after Misiorowski.
  15. K.C. Hunt
  16. Josh Adamczewski
  17. Eric Bitonti
Doubles Machine and still has top 100 potential. He needs to find a way to cut out on strikeouts.

He's surprised me so far this year. He's had several great games in the past, but I don't remember him stringing together a complete month like this before. Is it time to get my hopes up again?

This is a great system with a wealth of talent. You can look at the top 20 and make a case that by all-star break or even by the end of the year, the brewers could have 7-10 top 100 player- (Pena, Miso, Made, Quero, Payne, Boeve, Pratt, Letson, Bitonti, Adamczewski).

Top 3 to me of Pena, Miso, & Made are in a tier all their own. This is a tier where we could see them in discussions for top 10 overall. Depth of the system is also insane. I would say there are a handful of systems where our number 20 is another teams top 10.  Pitchers in this system are also uber young for the most part. Some are performing well early, and still have lots of room for development in one of the best pitching development systems. I can't believe some of the names I had to leave off of this list.  Let's get this list to at least a top 30.

Yoho would have been on this list higher as he deserves it, but I dont see the Brewers sending him back down, so in my mind he has graduated.  Yerlin also deserves a spot just for his stuff, but as a relief pitcher he needs to prove it a little bit longer.  Manual Rodriguez, I have loved, I just am concerned about the lack of speed so far. Carlos Rodriguez, I see you, and you are still young and showing out. The other pitchers since they are new to the system just are giving me a little more to dream on at this point. Ernesto, you are one of my favorite players, you are just a little more older with a big swing that I hope plays well in the Bigs, but I'm not sure. Also a few too many uncharacteristic errors in the early season. This being said, I hope we see you in the lineup soon and that you are our starting 1B next year. You would be on my list if I didn't typically value pitchers and up the middle position players a little bit higher.

Jose Anderson with his early season power in the DSL last year still excites me the most on this list as far as what we might have that we dont know about.  Crow is another unknown that I am excited to see.
