Not nearly as clutch, but against a good offensive team team coming back with that answering HR helped to prevent the game from becoming interesting, aka save the bullpen.

So Vaughn has 1+ RBI in each of his first 4 games as a Brewer? That seems like quite a feat.

First person in franchise history to do it I guess

Mutual option.

While they rarely get mutually accepted, it has happened.   And, technically, not a free agent.

I kind of want to send Aaron Civale a nice fruit basket or the like for what he did for the Brewers.

AI would be more thorough.  This is from Google search assistance.  Close but more comprehensive:

Andrew Vaughn has had an impressive start with the Milwaukee Brewers, hitting .429 with 10 RBIs in his first five games, including multiple key doubles that contributed to the team's six-game winning streak. He made history by driving in a run in each of his first five games with the team, showcasing his significant impact since being traded from the Chicago White Sox.

I wasn’t encouraging AI in the chat with my question.

wanting him at the plate and watching him rip those doubles was unlocking some Overbay vibes for me

I don't know how much this has moved since we got him but his batted ball profile on Statcast is decent:

He is making good contact and hitting the ball hard. There is probably some bad luck in there, as evidenced by his xBA of.268 and xSLG of .483. I hope he keeps this up so one of our resident bloggers can do an in-depth "what's different since he got to the Brewers?" piece.

His xwOBA when we traded for him was .321 so it's gone up 15 points

That option has about as much chance of being mutually accepted as mine would if I had one……and I’m old and mostly blind in one eye……lol.

So, do the players vote for a full share to Civale after the World Series?

I looked at Savant for Vaughn and AL central must be a bizarre joke.  So, Vaughn has 80 career HRs.  An XHR of 88 at Chc.  55! In KC!  62 in Det. 72 in MN.  While 105! In Milw.  Only Pitts does he have an XHR below 80 in NL central. Other 3 is above.  That could explain an easy trade for Milw to pick up under the radar.

I don't understand what this means at all.

I should let OP clarify because I only think I know the xHR stat .. but I believe it compares every ball hit to ballpark layouts. So in the Vaughn example ... he has 80 career HRs but if all of his batted balls were in MKE he would have 105 of them, etc. This is kind of an interesting little find. I would love to be the nerd (respectfully) that the Brewers hired to simply spend their day perusing the BS site to find the guys who would perform much better in MKE vs their current divisions.

Also, the BaseballSavant page is dangerous. You can go down some gnarly rabbit holes. For example, Cal Raleigh has 41 home runs this year but he has hit 51 baseballs that would have been a home run in at least 1 park.

Vaughn might see a boost in home runs at AmFam, which is the second highest MLB park in expected home runs for him (behind Great American).  Some of the AL central parks he played in are tough to hit homers in.  Kaufman and Comerica rank as the two most difficult stadiums in MLB for him to homer, though Rate Field does play above average.
