Please post more than just a link.  While this is a legit link, this tends to be more of a "click-bait" move.  You opened a thread... what point are you making?

Nice to see Mears pitch nearly two innings yesterday. Looks like he may be ready to go late next week with a minimum stay on the IL. Will be interesting to see how things go with Woodruff and Myers these next couple of weeks as well.

My point is to offer information about the brewers injuries. Information that I assume is of interest to Brewers fans.

i don’t post click bait……if you don’t want the information then don’t bother reading threads that I start.

The salient point here is that regardless of the content of the link, simply posting a link is just making work for everyone else to go read it. Instead, you should at least summarize the key points. Do not just post a URL. That's true anytime, not just starting a thread (but especially then).

The link addresses every single Brewers Player on the IL at a point in time. I think it is a nice summary that Adam McCalvy prepares and updates on a regular basis. The link isn't clickbait, it's convenient to have at the top because if you are ever curious about the injury status of a Brewers on the IL click it and it will have the most up to date info on every injured Brewer.

@markedman5 I never said it was click-bait... I even stated that it was a legit link.  I said it was a click-bait MOVE... i.e. leave this site and go to another site to read information.

The link itself it fine when you want to give credit to someone for content, but then post what you want to discuss.  If you need a place for bookmarks, every browser has that feature available.

Now to get the thread back on track...

I did not see Civale's injury before.  Our SPs seem a bit snake-bit this year.  I take solace in the fact that last year's rotation was pretty wonky the first half of the year and we ended up finding Myers as a result of it.

Respectfully, I see both sides of this coin. I think most regular posters here know that you share links with useful information about the Brewers.

But I also think that empty posts with only a link are... lacking. Even a quick sentence to provide some context would be enough I'd think.

Something like, "Hey I found this site with pictures of cute bunnies if anyone is interested."

Not everyone might want to see cute bunnies so they know not to click the link (LOL).

Now please enjoy this picture of a Kung Fu bunny.

The whole link is relevant, hard to summarize an entire relevant website. This is my central hub for Brewers stuff. I don't search around so posting links to good stuff that I can click on saves me time. Thanks for posting markedman.

To contribute, it's insane how many pitchers on IL but I'm not sure we have that many spots to free up in pen and rotation so who goes to AAA?

The idea of simply posting a link to a website with no explanation is generally worthless. However, the forum does deserve a thread to discuss injury updates. I like having this thread rather than 13 separate threads to discuss all of our injured players.

I think we are done discussing the philosophy of link posting without comments. 🙂

I agree. Lets get back to what this tread is supposed to be about.

Injury notes from the Brewers:

Blake Perkins had another set of imaging on his shin, if all clear he can face live pitching again

DL Hall has progressed to bullpens to about 20 pitches as he continues his build-up from his lat injury.

Posted

Interesting to see Hall starting to get going, with him on the 60 Day, I thought he would have a couple more weeks until getting going.

Woody threw a 51 pitch simulated game a couple days ago. The team said they hope he is back by May. I would think throwing 51 pitches and he could be back after 1 or 2 rehab starts which would seem to be a couple weeks. Are they just going to be extra cautious and give him more starts or is my math off.

Nestor to the IL with a flexor strain

2nd Flexor Strain in a calendar year for Cortes. 1 in 5 pitchers who have a forearm strain injury usually need TJ surgery. I wonder what the percentage is when you’ve had it twice?

Brewers assistant GM Matt Kleine said the team doesn’t believe the Nestor Cortes injury is a “long term issue.” He was dealing with a scratchy elbow in the build up to his last start and didn’t recover enough to make his next start.

rough stretch for the crew…….unbelievable really…..just need to try and tread water until we get some guys back.

Just saw the Nestor news..my goodness. This season already feels snake bitten. Is this an inevitable karmic return organizationally? The Brewers, as a group, have been uber-resilient and have found ways to rise up and overcome adversity and national sentiments for several seasons running. This season, quite simply, just feels different with more adversity and 'come uppance' (if you will). I know it's early, but the tenor of what is going on feels as though it is carrying weight and the results are speaking to the ramifications of this weight. Hopefully, the team does what they typically do which is prove my 'worrying' and doubts or fears ("Oh no! We're bad again! 😅) wrong. I would absolutely love for this latter sentiment to be true.

What a horrible trade

AAA 2nd baseman & an injured mediocre starting pitcher for Devin Williams

Is it? Devin Williams will pitch 60 innings in ‘25 and file for free agency.

I wouldn’t say Cortes is mediocre, but the forearm strain is concerning, but yet they approved the medicals. They also got cash from the Yankees and Durbin.

So one way to look at it is Cortes, Durbin and the money used to sign Quintana all for a guy who is going to pitch 60 innings in ‘25 and become a free agent.
