Surprised it took this long. We must be the last team to finally get premium seating behind home plate. Not l like I'll be able to afford it.

"Built in the area just outside the ballpark along the first-base line, the club will eventually connect to the current concourses when it opens in 2027. The idea: An all-inclusive fan experience with valet, food, drink and gathering space for ticket-holders, part of what essentially counts as a reimagining of the season-ticket program for 375 seats.

The idea even affects the playing field; a new front row of seats will be added to what currently exists, slightly shaving down the space behind home plate. Ticket holders in the first six rows behind the plate (the current front five and the newly added sixth) will have new cushioned seats, in-seat delivery service and access to the Truss Club."

All this means is more empty seats behind home plate. Those folks are generally more interested in the lounge and other amenities than the game.

And it's hard to blame them given what these seats cost and the amenities that are offered.

IMO it would be better to use the loge seats directly below the press box as other teams have done, since you can charge essentially the same price but you don't give up the best seats to people who are not there to watch the game.

I'm thinking no.

"Pricing starts at $245"

how much for front row behind the plate I wonder. 500?

Isn't that what they currently have in the 3rd deck now, 300 Club or whatever they call it now.  I guess they're not getting the buyin on those since they're too high up?   IDK, I'm not sure there is enough super rich and big corps to buy this up at the level of most other big cities so it would be better leave it generally as is and do something else to try and court those rich people/businesses.  As you say, maybe shifting the 300 level stuff to somewhere in the 2nd or just making the 300 club better.   I've only had tickets in it once, for a weekday playoff game vs AZ 3ish years ago and it was basically dead, not crowded, etc

These sections are designed to be a tier above club levels since they are all-inclusive. You're right that the Brewers could have sectioned off part of the 300 club for this but apparently they decided the ROI on the close seats was better. The 300 club is too high up and lacks energy, I never liked sitting there either.

I've been in the Washington Nationals' version of the diamond seating (didn't pay for it) and I was underwhelmed. I appreciated the close seats but otherwise the food was little better than the quality of an airport lounge. I feel bad for the regular fans that will get booted for a section that is designed for businesses to comp seats to preferred guests, but it is what it is and the Brewers gotta make a buck where they can.

Front Row Amy? Huh... never heard of her.

Any identifying characteristics you could give me, maybe I could watch closer and see if I notice her?

It’s a matter of taste, but I don’t consider the lowest seats to be the best seats. They’re great if you want to be seen on TV or get a close up look at players, but personally I think a little more elevation gives you a better view of the action if you really want to watch the game

I’m the same way with basketball. With seats up a little higher you can see spacing and how plays are developing.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I loved my front row seats. Was always upset when they moved us to the second deck for the playoffs

I get the idea of limiting this area, especially now a year before it opens…you want those Full season ticket purchases.
But I would think this would be big with many groups of fans as a once or twice a year thing, especially for 10/20 game season ticket holders or

Nice job Brewers, alienate 99.9999% of your fans who can't, or would never pay that much for one baseball game.

How are they alienated? Because they can't afford the best seat in the house? They still can't. The Suites are... MUCH nicer.

So what? It's a businesses job to make money, not make everyone feel good.

And 245 is... a lot for a game, but I'd be willing to bet, for seats directly behind home with those amenities, we'd still be among the cheapest in Baseball(maybe the As temporarily cheaper).

15 bucks for a beer is more offensive than a 245 price on seats down right behind the plate.

How much of us does this really affect? We aren't the ones sitting in the front rows anyways at games so this doesn't bother me too much. Maybe once or twice every year or two I'll splurge for really close seats if there's a deal online that's it.

Maybe the Brewers have some marketing dept data that they are lacking some higher end stuff and missing out on things other teams have.

They wouldn’t build it if they didn’t have a good idea that they could sell enough of them to make it worthwhile displacing folks.

Frankly, the fan who buys the $50 ticket and drinks beer and eats hot dogs in the parking lot before carrying in a bag of peanuts isn’t generating much revenue for them. If they perceive they have potential a significant customer base  who will pay more for tickets and spend more in the park, they’re going to cater to those folks more than the $50 fan. Thats the way pro sports operate now.

Well, that's just sad to treat a fan base like that imo.

The $50 fan is the fan that comes to multiple games during the course of a season, pays the ridiculous parking fees, spends too much at the concession stands for sub-standard food, buys the extremly overpriced merch, and supports the franchise.  Without the lowly $50 fan as you call them, the team folds.

Make the entire stadium $250+ fans and see what happens.

the same $50 fan is going to be pissed that mgmt didnt make a bid for Ohtani or Judge, but simultaneously is pissed about the team building higher revenue streams for fans that wont a more premium experience.

The $50 fan probably never sits in the seats that are being repurposed, and will still have 40K seats to choose from every game.

Pretty much every road stadium already has these sections, heck watching the Nashville highlights they have a section like this is AAA.

The Brewers will continue to be one of the best values in MLB with plentiful tickets available for most games, now they'll just have an additional revenue stream too.
