The 'Brandon Woodruff to the Major Leagues' saga feels a lot like when you're dreaming and trying to get to the game but you're always missing an item: glove, jersey, pants, bat, etc.

Feels like Woodruff is going to be "ready" for MLB but then hurt something else and need a few more starts. This team is going nowhere unless they improve the offense so I wouldn't blame him if he's waiting, or the organization is waiting, whatever. But at this point it just seems like he's going to throw about 50 innings at the MLB level.

Were there results announced from last night's x-ray?

Any word on Mitchell or Perkins?

From the link on the first post:

Perkins: Took his first live batting practice in early June and was running without pain. Assistant GM Matt Kleine called it "a big week" in Perkins' surprisingly long recovery. (updated June 4)

Mitchell: Mitchell suffered the injury on April 25 and was doing baseball activities in Arizona as of the first week of June. A return by the end of the month was possible, assistant GM Matt Kleine said. (updated June 4)

Possibly two more rehab starts for Woodruff?!?  I understand making sure he's good to go but the season is wasting away and it's not like we're paying him a small salary.  Get his butt to Milwaukee.

Why?  I don't see any guarantee he is going to be better than anyone we have pitching now, with the likelihood he will be pitching worse.  Civale is the only one not pitching great, and he is also working his way back also.  So take him out for Woodruff?

I'm great with slow-playing his recovery until he is needed.

The one advantage to not having a bunch of high-paid players on the roster, is if they aren't doing great you don't feel compelled to play them.  Just because he is getting paid alot should not be a factor in this at all.

Civale’s season long numbers don’t look good but he’s been solid since coming off the IL. In 3 starts he has a 3.14 ERA, 3.35 FIP, 2.80 xERA.

Woodruff would likely be a downgrade to our current rotation in my opinion

The only reason salary needs to be mentioned is if you are hoping to trade him this year so getting him good MLB reps is of the essence. If you think we are keeping him for the year then his salary has nothing to do with whether or not he is ready and can help us at the MLB level.

Maybe a Jacob Misiorowski call up would be beneficial at some point soon if Koenig/Civale doesn't perform well next outing.

I agree … He is not as good today as Logan Henderson either

Doubtful……Civale has been fine and the Brewers want depth( which would be impacted since Civale can’t be sent down).

As far as Koenig……he isn’t going anywhere.

Throw in that Miz had a poor outing in his last appearance and isn’t on the 40 man …….

All this latest setback meabs is that Patrick isn’t going anywhere at least until Woody gets back…..they are covered…….depth is good……..Henderson likely the first option if somebody else gets hurt.

I think we will not see Mr. Thomas in a Brewers uniform ever again. I do wish him a speedy recovery

Finally some encouraging news

They can use the OF depth.  Collins works, but is awfully similar to Durbin/Turang/Ortiz as a hitter.  Plus then Chourio isn't responsible for CF fulltime.

Oh, cool. Can't wait for him to come back, OPS .600, and get injured again.
